Unused Medium: Do I have to toss it out ?

Just curious I made a mix up of Pro-mix HP, worm castings, perlite, and dolomite lime....

I mixed this up about 2 weeks ago....I added water to activate the lime....I didn't soak the mixture but it was definitely moist...

Well my first seeds didn't pop, and anyways I still have this mix....It's been sitting in the container (plastic garbage can bought specifically for mixing), and also I have two party cups full of it....

My question is....Is there a chance some mold or something could be growing in it ? Should I just toss it and start fresh ?

It's been sitting in the cellar...Temps are low 60s....If it matters I did mix up the stuff in the garbage can like twice in two weeks with my hand...

I would say keep it. You can still amend it further and i doubt that there is something growing in it that is preventing your beans from popping.

Does it smell bad? If it smells like fresh dirt you are probably good. I have kept 50ltr totes full of dirt for about 4-5 months now, open once a month or so (***With air holes) and it's still good. Don't worry as long as it doesn't stink like rot and mold I'd say.

Definitely keep it. Much like fine wine, soil only gets better with age.
