Use floresent or MH for veg room? pros and cons?

Why not more light in the flower room? If he has the funds for a T5, why not.. He'll get both spectrum's from using the MH and HPS together.. That's what I'd do.

I would put both 400w'ers in the production room and go with some cheap cool white flouresants on the veg. If you were to spend more money and relied on clones I'd for sure get myself a 400w mercury vapor for the moms for extending the stems for cloning. A MV is a like a MH but it's frosted. We use MH when we don't have enough HPS's. A MH is like a cheap bulb than can be screwed in, in an emergency.

Disagree... More light is absofuckinglutely more beneficial and is necessary for larger yields. More light = higher yields.

well he didn't specify how many plants, and its for vegetative state as well, perhaps that would be a good solution but not when it comes to a cycle does it? more light=higher yeilds=nofuckingduh
I wouldn't recommend a mercury vapor, they're light spectrum isn't optimum for plant growth, in fact its worse than a white led.
(and theres a few other differences between mh and mv besides the optional frost that any blub can come with or without)

i will have 10 plants on a flow table.. sooner or later adding another table, the room is 6ft deep x 14ft long my 2 lights i got a good deal on but arnt the vented hoods, those will also be down the line. will proble leave snow white in veg for 3 weeks then switch. the room is going to have a part of it cut off for the clones or starts. sounds like florecent is the way to go for the veg/starts?

i would go either way, i veg under t5's and flower on hps, but the light jump going from t5 to hps the plants might love more than from mh to hps but i would think u would get a faster better vegg state and than the flower might go just the same since it's not that big of a jump hope it hepls, but at the sme time mh and hps together could be great coming out from under t5s
Mercury Vapor will produce plants about 1/3 the size as MH will. Mercury Vapor is SHIT for growing! Metal Halide stomps MV into the ground, its not even a comparison.

regular flouresent lights are great for vegging. you can pick up a shop light and a cool white and day white bulb at home depot for just 26 bucks and the combination of the 2 lights are just perfect. no need to run high heat,high electric bills during vegging. and save the life of the hps and mh bulbs for many flowers. do use up the hours when they arent necessary
