hi all,

just looking for some advice from your nice forum...

i'm about 40 days into flower with a 400w hps light in a floodlight case/ballast as i already had one lying around. similar to this http://www.fastlec.co.uk/gewiss-horus-ip65-400w-metal-halide-floodlight-p-25.html

it also started with a 400w magenta coloured metal halide light for veg.

i'm just wondering - will having the glass cover on be detrimental to uv output and therefore thc levels?
if this is the case would a reptile terrarium uvb cfl be a good solution to keep thc levels normal/highish or is there actually probably a fair bit of uv going on and this would just send thc production through the roof resulting in way too brutal a high?
this is the sorta thing i'm on about

I use reputile UVB 2.0 lights to increase trichrome production. Along with snow storm ultra.
increasing potency with uv light. It doesn't increase potency. You synthesis cannabinoids up to THC, but you also degrade the THC that's already in the trichromes. You never gain potency, because you can stop the THC from degrading.
the glass probly blocks sum uv. Depends what kind of glass is in it. I wouldn't worry to much about it.
the only way I can see increasing potency is by increasing trichrome production. The more trichromes the more THC for a increased buzz.
if you want to increase trichrome production get a bottle of Snow Storm Ultra. Stuff works amazing for increasing trichrome production.
