Using cutting's to sex

i have heard people talk of this but not in detail.

Do you have to let the cutting root first.
Or do you put the cutting straight into 12/12 to show sex

minimal roots just to support life ...than flip it to sex...that will work

im in the process of sexing seedling now. i took 4 clones from each seedling, that was 10 or so days ago, they have all rooted and been potted in 1.5L pots. ill flower the seedling mothers now to sex them. destroy male seedlings and clones taken from them, use the female clones to get to your 3rd gen of clones to use as mothers.

Never thought of that. Makes since if you're growing outdoors where you can't control the hours of light that you could root and sex a cutting before the originals start flowering. You might be on to something.
