Can I use simple syrup mixture (50% water, 50% water) in my dwc system to sweeten the buds?"

Well, I already did it so I'll let you know. I also mixed up a batch of 3/4 cup orange juice, 1/4 cup unsulphered mollasses and a bit of water. Haven't added.any of that yet but I'll let you know. Hkpefully no flies or gnats. Keep you posted. bTW - Dwc bubbleponics here.

What exactly do you mean 'sweeten the buds'? Make them taste better?

The simple answer is no. Firstly because plant roots don't absorb exogenous sucrose very well. Secondly the flavor doesn't really come from how much sugar your buds contain.

Imo you are risking a fermentation in your res, with serious consequences for the pH and for oxygen displacement. Sugars are a popular if somewhat controversial additive to soil grows, where you WANT rampant microflora. I would "just say No". cn

Well, It's DWC bubbleponics so I change out the water every week anyway. What are other ways to add carbs to your plant?

Well I added the mollasses and orange juice last night and they started to droop but then I though, well maybe it's due to the amount of heat on 'em. They were due to go off at 7:00 p.m. anyway so I figured I'd let them be but added a couple gallons of water to them just to liquifiy everything a bit more. Mixed it up and pH'd it to 6.5. Went to bed and this morning when I woke her up she was bright eyed and bushy tailed. Like she's on a high or something. So I check the reservoir water, aside from it coming out a bit frothy it looked okay. A kind of bright yellow. I used the pH chemicals to test her water and it was spot on. I'm wondering if I might have found a new way to perk em up.
