Using the 24 hour light setting for an aerogarden deluxe?

Has anyone ever used the 24 hour light setting for the aerogarden deluxe to flower bud? I thought that resetting my light on off schedule would do it, but low and behold the automatic timer on the aerogarden had the lights coming on at 8 hours off anyway. Luckily I caught it 10 mins after it came on. Anyway. Would putting my lights on the 24 hour setting and then turning the light off manually after 12 hours of light, will the light come back on in 12 hours? Does this method work well for flowering cannabis? If not, do I need to buy an outlet timer to shut the whole thing off? Advice would be very much appreciated. Thanks. :joint:

So it's either buy a timer, or sit here and wait for the light to come on and shut it off....lol. I guess I have to get a timer.

Nubbis: Why? I've been discouraged by some very knowledgeable people from doing that. Their reasoning was: "Everybody needs some rest, even plants. That's when they feed and repair." As a result, I run my old seven holes, "Classic," models on a remote timer to start at 20 hours on and 4 hours off. Then I drop the light by one hour a week.

Have you talked to customer service at Aerogarden? They're usually very helpful. That 24 hours cycle is a highly touted feature of their newer models. If there's really something wrong with it they may want to correct it. There is or was a warranty. HSA
