Vanilla Kush - First grow

Hello everyone!
I must say I'm a bit scared cause I've read a lot of people complaining about these seeds, but since this has been my first strain and is still my favourite, I decided it was time to ditch the dealer and start growing myself some Vanilla Kush. I'm hoping that keeping a journal here will be a great occasion to get some help, having no friends with experience in growing whatsoever, so feel free to give me any advice you find useful, it'll be much appreciated!

I'm growing two feminised autoflowering vanilla kush in a 1,20 x 0,7 x 0,5 metres wardrobe and I covered all the internal walls with mylar.
I'm using four 25 w 6500k CFLs for veg and I have 8 x 18 w 2700k CFLs for flowering, the plants are growing in a mix of perlite, vermiculite and growing soil. I started seedling on the 10th of April and they sprouted on the 13th and 14th of April, so they are two weeks old.
I'm switching the lights from 24/0 to 16/8 tonight and I will start adding nutes tomorrow.
One of the two plants is starting to have a bit of a yellow layout on some leaves, will that be solved with the new nutes mix or is it something else?

Also, I will be gone for four days starting from the 1st of May, has anybody got any tip on what to do, having no one who can take care of them?

These pics are from today, as you can see the first plant has some yellow shades on its leaves

Oh and yes, i bought my Tangerine Dream and VK before i read about ppl complaining at all. After i decided to give up on the TD, being an amateur growing at the time, and had struggled with the VK i finally looked into them and found out i'm not the only one with poor results with matched some other complaints. But i don't care anymore, i just think that it's a very finicky seed and sensitive to pH and nute changes/flux.
If i don't do well with the VK this go around it's bye bye. I want some other strains anyfart

I'm no expert, still trying to peg the reason my indicas yellow early in flower. i'm thinking i'm slacking on how much N they need and maybe need to adjust my pH. I'm still messing around with it.

I have started giving my plants nutrients today, we'll see what happens in the next few days...they've started smelling real good in the meantime :) :) :)

Well I'm growing in a small wardrobe and using a huge filter for smells and 3 fans, I'm hoping to keep the smells to the minimum. My house always smells like weed anyway cause we all smoke regularly, my landlord is coming around today and if he doesn't notice I won't have any further problem. I'll make sure he doesn't notice. ahah

Came back from Amsterdam after leaving my two plants 4 days alone...they got so big I had to put them in their final pots :D
I have started using Dutch Pro Nutrients for Grow and they seem to love it, the yellow-ish leaves turned green now.
So they're almost in their 4th week of veg, do they look alright or are they too small?

So, three new pics.
A month has passed since they sprouted, I'm waiting for a new adaptor for my new 200 watt light, that I will be leaving on with the others for about a week, then I'll probably switch to the flowering stage.

Look healthy man. I'll get you some pictures of my VK here tomorrow morning. Mine was a clone and i've bushed it out a decent amount. around 1.5ft tall now with 6ish tops.

Keep it up man and make sure they have what they need when you switch to flower, nutes wise. I've def realized over time it's really pretty easy to veg a plant really nicely and healthy but the plant becomes more demanding during flower.

Looking pretty good for 4 weeks from seed with CFLs. I started out growing Vanilla Kush exclusively in dwc, and I just loved it. In the last few years I've switched to F&D sog with perlite in 6in square pots and started growing NL&BB, OG Kush, NY-47 and Trainwreck (my favorite). After my room was completely dialed in and had all the custies I needed, I missed my Vanilla Kush! In February I remember I had 5 VK feminized seeds left in the Barney's Farm package, so I popped 3 seeds and I'm growing them as moms to see which pheno I like best. One mom is a total indica pheno, one is a nice indica/sativa mix and one looks almost pure sativa and grows TALL. I'll have a few VK girls of all 3 phenos ready to chop at month's end, can't wait to see which one will be the winner. At that point, I'll probably just keep the winning pheno and replace the other 2 moms with her. I'll try to remember this thread to post some pics if you like, good luck with your girls...

Found a couple of pics from the last VK grow... Even the fucking fan leaves were frosty!

How old are yours? Cause mine are still really short, I wanna get to around 1 ft to switch to the flowering stage, and they haven't shown any sex sign yet either

Don't you think they're a bit too short? They're 7-9 inches at the moment, sprouted on the 13th and 14th of April..
Your VK's look amazing btw :)
Nah, give yourself a break, man: your in soil with cfls, I was doing hydro under 600w HPSs, so for your situation that's not bad. If you grow from clone now things will be much faster, it takes a while longer from seed. Good luck!

Cool :) Unfortunately I know no one who grows so everything I know comes from my readings here and elsewhere, but sometimes comparing your plants with others is just useless, as we're all using different set ups. I don't want really tall plants anyway, but I think I'll wait for them to be half the height I wanna get, there isn't a limit to how long veg can be, is there?
