Vanilla kush

Hello all. New to the site thanks for having me. I have one question reguarding harvesting vanilla kush. She has been in flower bout 6 1/2 weeks looking great too. Not that i want to take her down but i have to. Will be leaving town unexpectedly. Grown under 600 watt MH, flowered under 600 watt HPS. Taste test put me on the couch, but no coughlock. Its hard to see the colors under these lights, but tri's are about 50% milky and hairs are bout 50% orange. Total flower time will be 7 weeks at harvest. Do you think that is going to be ok or is this just way to soon? Either way, I have no choice and we'll live with it. Thanks :sad:finish 001.jpgfinish 002.jpgfinish 003.jpg

How long are you going to be out of town? If for only a couple weeks can you get someone to watch or can you set up an SIP? I have heard you can take a 5 gallon bucket with water and run a cotton rope from the water to your plant and it will act like a SIP (Self Irrigating Planter). Those pistols are standing straight up and its a bummer to need to scrap the grow when you are really so close.

If none of those options work you can harvest, you may want to extend your cure and your yield will obviously suffer but not a lot you can do.

Thoose 36 hours could have been spent getting more energy for more bud production.. Now shes gunna spend most of that time recovering from stress :/ I doubt you'll see more growth for the last 2-3 days. I suggest getting some1 to babysit for you :) Best option. Saafe

I agree with Jubag, pruning this close before a pre-mature harvest is like kicking her in the teeth while on her deathbed. You would have been better served letting her get the most out of the remaining time you have left.

[edit] not trying to be rude with the analogy.

That sounds like a great idea. Out of town for 10 days. Also as i have a digital ballast would you recommend cutting wattage back to 50 or 75% While away? Thanks. You have been great help.

I dont think you need to cut back power, you are done with stretching so your plant height should be fine (not going to run into them). All the reduced light would do is decrease the penetration and the amount of light that gets to the bottom foliage.

Hahaa loved the way you said that hbbum :) If your getting a babysitter why the need to cut back on the light? Make sure they check your place daily, you'll b fine :) Give her full power buddy.. GL

Thanks fellows. No sitters. Just a bucket of water to keep her company. As for fan leaves i have been removing them one or two throughout flowering. Just happy i wont have to axe her. As if you couldnt notice im a first time gardener and hope i will learn and get better.
