Vape, to grind or not?

So Im a little confused. First off this is the vaporizer we have been using.

Well my friends brother swears by it and loves it. He found what he thinks is the correct temp and always has great results with it. He grinds the shit out of the bud, pretty much into powder. When he sets it all up I get decent hits off it and it works alright. But over all and with out him I dont get good results. How ever I found if I just stuff larger chuds of bud into it, it will CREAM out and I get instantly retarded. Using the same temp he has marked on the box. Which is about 3/4 of a turn on the dial. So pretty much whats the correct way to use this vape? Just figured Id ask lol. Also are you supposed to see smoke?

Well son, you answered your own question. If you get blazed using buds instead of ground up buds.....dingdingding....always remember, use everything as a guideline, but the final decisions are yours. Vape on monkey..
