Probably as long as you can, just like normal smoke. And acutally, you shouldn't need to hold it in as long either, since it's much more pure THC than the other method.
 
well...all the thc that can be absorbed into the body is done within 5seconds, so ....id say...5sec lol or maybe 6 for the hell of it
 
i beg to differ about the 5 6 seconds because i hold hits in longer than that and still feel crazies and crazier till i let it out

Well, you can hold it in as long as you want, but for the percentage of thc absorbed by the lungs, it comes out to the same if you hold it in for 10 seconds, as it would if you held it 20.
 
I hold it for 5-15 seconds. Unless it tastes extra good. Then I hold it and slowly exhale to enjoy the flavourful goodness
