Hey all - so below you’ll see my final veg update - switch to 12/12 is official.

Final measurements for plant 1, Wedding Cake (7 weeks, 4 days from breaking ground): 18” wide x 33” long x 13” tall. Trunk measurement 1” diameter.

Final measurements for plant 2, Super Silver Haze (6 weeks, 4 days from breaking ground): 18” wide x 24” long x 11” tall. Trunk measurement 3/4 inch diameter.

I’ve also ordered two new upgrades - first a 50 pint (3500 sf) dehumidifier which will be kept outside the tent. This is because in the last week my humidity has been entirely too high, as the local weather switches to warm and humid. Humidity in the tent the last week has averaged 61%, far too high now that I’m rolling into flower. Plan to set humidifier to 50% target, figuring humidity in the tent will be slightly higher. VPD has been solid at 1.1 and average daily temp at 74 (warm in the day, cooler at night). I expect in the coming weeks, average temp will rise to 76-78 and peak closer to 85.

Current PAR levels in the tent are 1200 in the middle and 600 on the sides. Not quite ideal, predominately because my current primary light is a Advanced Platinum P300 held at 18 inches (180w actual draw). No sign of light burn (I’ve had it at that height for the last 6 days). Spectrum on that light includes UVA and 730 nm IR. However, due to the poor PAR spreads, I added side lighting. The side lighting is cheap full spectrum LED bars with IR at 40 watts each, and add about 200 PAR at 12 inches around the sides. I have ordered a new Photontek SQ300W Pro, which is 315 watts, it does include a very even PAR spread (850 corners, 1050 center) at 17” and full power but doesn’t include UVA light (does include 730nm diodes). This will bring my total draw wattage in the 3x3 tent to 475. I plan to let the colas grow over the side lights and tilt them towards the plant.

There have been no signs of distress, mold, disease or anything at any point in the grow process. I fertilize more frequently now, 2 waters days on, 1 water off. Last week I moved my carbon filter and in-line fan (402cfm) outside of the tent to allow more vertical room for the light and growth.

Thoughts and comments as always appreciated. Please be kind but honest - this is my first grow!

Looks good. You’ve definitely got the science side of it sorted, & experience will soon show you that grow space comes at a premium & sometimes less is more. The ‘stretch’ stage in the time between veg & flower onset is a hard/impossible lesson to teach through correspondence & equally difficult to learn from books alone. Its a hands on ‘gotta see it to believe it’ lesson. Expect some vigorous upward growth in the coming weeks.
Pests, mould & disease tend to show up in the later stages of growth & love an overcrowded under circulated environment.
They look great, your doing a real good job!

Thanks! Soooo here’s the latest update. Did a pruning Saturday to take away what I didn’t want and open up the canopy. Through 8 days of 12/12 the plants stand at 18”, still have about a 18 inches of extra height before I’ll have to reduce the power of the fixture to 75%, which buys me an extra 6 inches.

Pruning removed the bottom 3rd of the growth and removed all bud sites below the top 3 on each branch. I also removed some of the skinny bud sites on the plant on the left that did reach the canopy to maximize the primary stalks.

Trichomes appeared yesterday too which was exciting!

85°f has been too high ime. 81-82 seems about where I need it to be.
So temps in the last week have been a lot warmer, and I’m averaging 80-82 during the afternoons and early evening. This week outside temps are hitting upper 80’s so we’ll see how warm it gets in there. Hoping to not have to buy an AC but we’ll see. May switch to lights at night and dark during the day.

If your tent is indoor, and you use air conditioning for your household, you don't need to buy an ac.
