veggies with same growing parameters as weed?

Im in the process of building my dream setup.But I cant start growing what I want for a little while.So in the meantime what veggies have the same growing parameters as weed.I thought it would be good practice.(Ill be using a aeroponic setup).

Tomatoes like it a little wetter. They need lots of cal mag. I think they are a pretty good test crop.
