VEGGING UNDER CFLs

im thinking of setting up a vegging bud box tent with a 4 pot willma hydro system and need some help on what wattage CFL bulbs to put in , thinking of putting 2 in on hangers ?, ive never used CFLs always used the 600w HPS lights from clone , so any info would be great , trying to sort out a clone room then veg in the small tent with the CFLs then into a 600w HPS room so that way i can keep it going every four weeks for a harvest....

i also veg with cfls. the key is the color. you want 5600k cfls for vegging. those are the brighter, more pure white/blue lights. and if i read you correctly for 4 plants you should be good using a total of 250-300 watts for veg. so id pick up the amount of 23 watters or 40 watters that would equal how much wattage you want. are you going to flower with your hps?

yo, mon.......that's 6500K.....not 5600K

Walmart has them. get GE daylights. 6500k

you can go all the way down to 5000k if you wanted to.

could i get 2 x 150w bulbs or do they not come like that ? will be vegging for 5 weeks then i will be flowering under the 600w

You can but cfls don't penetrate the canopies very well so getting lower wattage spread around the plant is more effective.
