Im using a ventech 6 inch fan to bring air in from outside since it's cool out and it seems to get the job done.

Not sure. I ordered a filter off eBay and got mine in error... Ended getting fan and filter. I use the filter on my active air inline by hydro farm. It should work with filter. I see no reason why it wouldn't.
