Ventilation question

I have a 4x2x6 closet grow and I recently added an exhaust fan that is 50 cfm with an oscillating 12in. fan and an 8in. fan but temps are still at 83-85!! Do I need more cfms to pull out the heat?? Btw I am using 4ft fluorescents and 1 65w cfl and 3 27w cfls and I thought they wouldn't get that hot???

The problem is your 65w. From my experience, the smaller wattage bulbs dont seam to get hot at all. If heat is an issue, its usually better to get a bunch of smaller CFLs than one big one. This is also better for spreading the light out.

One problem could be number of fans you're using. Try turning off your 8" fan and see if that helps. Too much air movement in multiple directions could negatively affect the amount of air passing through your exhaust fan.

no your temp is PERFEFCT dont change anything it needs to be in the mid 80s low 90s for optimal growth when the light is on and low 70s high 70s when light is off

I tried turning off the 8in. fan and temps just rise!! So I have my door cracked with a 20in box fan pointing in it helped a little but I hate having the door cracked cause I am losing light..

Hmm not sure then, I was just suggesting that because I had that problem for a little while when first set up my box. What kind of fan are you using for your exhaust? I read somewhere the cfm that inline fans are rated for only applies in duct type uses, not open air. If that's the case it may not be moving as much air as you think. Do you have any pics of your setup? Also what is the ambient temp of the room outside the closet, the higher the temp of the air going in, the higher your temps will be.
