Venting Air Cooled Hood or Cool Tube

Hey, I have a cabinet that is about 2ft by 1.5ft by 5ft. Running a 400w HPS. Temps in the cabinet are getting way to high even though the room is not warm. So, I need to get an air cooled hood or make a cool tube.

I already have an intake and exhaust.

Ok, my question.

Will a 4inch desk fan be powerful enough to cool a cool tube or air cooled hood? If it is not cool enough will the bulb get messed up?

Im not worried about how much air is exhausted cause I already have an exhaust. Just dont want to ruin the brand new bulb.

dude a computer a fan has no chance in that set up, u need like a vortex 10" fan depending how large of a tube you want to make....

Regardless you neeed lots of air pass through there to even affect the temperture in that closet as its so small already..

hope this helps :)

Cool Tube would be 4". Why do I need such a big fan? Will the tube get so hot it warms up the room if not vented enough?

Just to make sure were talking about the same thing im only asking about the cool tube or air cooled hood. not an exhaust for the cabinet.

this thread is dead
but i will answer anyway
i use a 265 cfm eco blower to exhaust and pull through my 400w hps
ive seen people use cool tubes with a pc fan on either end
maybe even just 1 powerful pc fan
but most people using 400w or more should invest in either a blower or inline fan
