Welcome to my new journal. I just upgraded so I decided a new journal would be best.

Feel free to comment, ask questions etc.

Lighting:
Veg and cloning: 5 X 26 watt CFL
Flowering: Aircooled400 Watt HPS

Genetics:
All Feminized:
Barneys Farm Violator Kush
G13 Labs Skunk #1
DNA Genetics Hashplant X Haze
GHS The Church
Clones from a strain I chose to keep

Regular seeds:
DNA Genetics Kush Berry X Skunk
DNA Genetics LA Conf. X Skunk

Soil:
MG Organic w/ perlite and vermiculite

*I will also be trying out Hempy buckets in the grow*

Here's the new light installed in my closet for flowering

These will be the last of the "Pygmy" plants, 150 watt HPS is now my backup light

My intake fan, it actually works well

Inline exhaust fan

Closet door removed w/ 4 layers of 4 Mil. black poly as door. Note the exhaust coming out. This will covered by a curtain rod and curtain. If you do the same make sure the exhaust hose has room to breathe

My veg cabinet, bought at Walmart for $62. Has adjustable shelves. The bottom will be for Mom's of the VK, Church and 1 more strain
Middle shelf is for clones. using both soil and a bubble cloner. Im using both head to head to see which works better for me.
Top shelf is storage, nutes, etc.

My order came in. I took the pics due to my problems w germination rates w/ The Church recently.

Viloator kush and The Church soaking overnight

Both going into germination after nightlong soak

The Mother plant that I flowered and took clones from.

A bud from the Mom, it's a grow log, i cant start it without some bud porn

Thats it for today. The new genetics are germinating, 2 Vk have popped the shell. I'll be posting again soon, cant take mo pics my light is off.

Feel free to comment, ask, advise, whatever

Germination
I woke up this morning and checked the seeds that were still germinating. 1 each of the VK and The Church were ready to go into soil and did.
The last of the 5 VK's is almost there, should be another day or 2 at the most. Im happy w/ that 5/5 germination rate. Cant ask for more.
One more of The Church is breaking the shell and looks good. Another is getting close but looks like it's having a hard time breaking all the way out of the shell.
So, I have 4 VK in soil and 1 Church. With 1 more of each definitely going into soil within 48 hours.

I then checked my Veg. cabinet and found 3 of these:

the fist 3 VK's to hit soil have now popped.

My wife hung a curtain to help cover the closet up and it looks good enough. The pic was taken w/ the light on. the cord sits behind curtain (oops)

Last night I took 3 more cutting from the Hashplant X haze and put them into the bubble cloner w/ the first 2 cuttings. The first two are starting to show the beginning of roots. Pretty happy w/ this it's only been 4 days, thats better than I ever did w/ soil.

No flowering pics today, light was off when I remembered to take pics (note to self, no more bonghits before I tend garden and post):wall:.

But I can say this, i checked everything in the closet and the temp was 76 degrees, im happy there. And I swear, I can see the difference since switching over from the 150 HPS to the 400 watt. My wife laughed, but I know i see the difference already. :cuss:

More to come.........

Seedling Update:
4 of the 5 Violator Kush have popped soil and are growing nicely.
The larger 2 are 4 days now, the other 2 are @ 2 days.

Both germinated seeds of The Church have just started to pop soil today, here they are

Hashplant x Haze cloning:
I couldn't be happier with this. the plant clones really well. Im getting roots quicker than I ever have ( 4 days they start roots). I added a heating mat under my bubble cloner and did the trick. Water stays warm now.
here are a couple showing the cloner, root development, then them in soil. The roots took 7 days from cutting to get to this point.

Flowering update:
I harvested the last single mini clone 2 weeks ago. Took a sample this AM and it tastes great, nice and sweet. I have a small planter w/ 4 more small clones from the same Mom flowering as well and 3 more in Veg. I think I'll keep 1 as a Mom, I love the taste and smell of this strain as do my friends. A true bagseed gem.

The planter w/ my 4 LST clones.

2/3 shot of the flowering cab today

Mom 2 weeks into flower

LOL I'll keep updating, even if im the only one here i guess

i am also very happy with the hashplant x haze from dna genetics. super easy to clone, and one of the fastest and strongest growing strains ive seen. nice setup you having running. how long do you veg your clones before putting into flowering?

I've been letting them root and then vegging for 1 week. I was using a 150 watt HPS and really needed the plants to stay small. Now that I have the 400 HPS I'm thinking I'll let them veg. for 3 weeks.

Quick update: 2 of the Kushberry x Skunk free seeds from DNA Genetics turned out female :-)

They are small plants so i basically used the top half of each plant, and have the cuttings in the cloner.

I also put the first hashplant clone into the flowering room, she's small but i wanna stay perpetual, so a small plant is better than none. There are now 5 more rooted clones of Hashplant, and 3 more in the cloner.

My Church seedlings are super tiny, the smallest seedlings ive ever bothered to keep. Im at the point w/ this strain that if I get 1 decent plant to clone from I'll be happy.

Update:

I let my plants get a little to close to the light and as a result got a little bit of leaf burn. I was lucky enough to catch it quickly enough so the damage isnt too bad, all the flowers look healthy.

My cloning of the Hasplant x Haze is continuing. I am getting 100% success rate w/ this strain. I cut 2 more last night, the Mom is now pretty mcuh done giving clones for a bit. I pulled a total of 11 from her so far. Im letting the rest of Mom grow more until ready to provide more cuttings. Here's Mom, depleted of clones and vegging along to give more later on.

My Kushberry clones are doing well, they are taking longer to root than my Hashplant; due in part to them being in flowering already. Im starting to see the beginings of rootlets, so I'm happy and think they will be fine. Here they are in the cloner w/ the last cuttings of Hashplant

The strain that I kept going is great. I sampled some after 2 weeks of cutring and Im very happy. great citrus taste w/ a great stone. Deinitely a bagseed home run. Heres a bud out of the curing jar

My Barneys Farm Violator Kush seedlings are doing great. Squat stout looking little seedlings. 2 of the seedlings already have 4 sets of nodes and are only 3 inches tall. Hers one of the smaller ones.

Unfortunately I cant say a single good thing about GHSC The Church. Both sprouts never did a thing. They were ridiculously small and didn't grow at all. I killed them to make room for plants that actually will grow. Im dont w/ GHSC, their shit will NEVER enter my system again.

And last is the Mom to my "Keeper" bagseed wonder, she's now at 3 weeks. her buds are small still but rock hard and starting to give off a nice fruity smell. This strain really starts to take off from weeks 4-5 so Im expecting some nice dense nugs from her. The difference from a 150 watt HPS to my 400 watt HPS amazes me. Here is the main branch's tops.

I was lazy and bought my cloner on Ebay, was around $25. Its real simple and easy to use or build. I saw everything that was used to build it at Walmart for a total of about $9:
Sterilite tub w/ top (storage)
Small aquarium pump and some hose (pets section)
glue

If you look at a few on Ebay you'll see thats it's real simple to build. I think ive seen a tutorial on here too.

It works great, like I said I'm 100% with the Hashplant x Haze cuttings and the few other clones ive done in it.

Update:

Sorry no pics today wife out w/ the camera.

I put my 150 watt HPS into the veg cabinet and the plants are loving it. The Hashplant mom has bounced back well and is a nice little Bonsai mom now. She will be ready to give more cuttings in a week or 2 I think.

I saved 1 of the female Kushberry females and that is almost ready to give clones too. I have an LA Woman that should be showing sex within the nest few days, im thinking its a female. If so she goes back into veg and becomes a Mom too.

The Violator Kush seedling look fantastic. Im loving this strain already, so lush and squat. Im selecting the best 2 to keep as Moms and will be flowering the other 3 in 2 weeks.
I had a seed germinate in an unmarked cup (my bad) im hoping like hell it's the Church seedling that never took off. Its healthy but too small to tell what strain it might look like yet.

I picked the first of my mini clones of the "keeper" that I had growing LST in a window planter. It wasnt ready but Im almost outta smoke and prices here for good smoke are through the roof right now. Im amazed the difference in density w/ the 400 watt HPS compared to my 150, that tiny plant is gonna yield what my decent sized plants used to under the 150 :-)

Ill update w/ some pics this week.

Update:
Veg Cabinet:
The cloner is full again. 2 of the Hasplants were ready for transplant and replaced w/ Violator Kush cuttings to join the Hasplant and Kushberry x Skunk cuttings.
The Violator Kush plants are looking OK, only 2 look good enough to use as Mothers, the rest will go into flower next week to make room in the Veg. cabinet.
The Kushberry x Skunk Mom has given a few cuttings and is starting to grow back w/ some vigor. The LA Woman x Skunk is finally out of flowering mode and has started Veg. growth, will be a while before I take cuttings from her.

Flowering Closet:
My "keeper" plant is now at 5 1/2 weeks and getting plump. I pollinated a few bottom flowers w/ LA Woman x Skunk and the seeds look healthy and will probably be usable.
The Hasplant plants all look very healthy, they stretched ALOT after going into flower so I had to tie some down already. I will be topping the strain from now on to make more of a bushy profile. My first time growing a Sativa dominant plant, so I had a little to learn I guess.
As of now there are 8 Hashplant x Haze and the "keeper" in flower. There are 4 hasplants now rooted and vegging and the cloner is full.

Im happy, I can finally see light at the end of the tunnel. Once my "keeper" comes out of flowering it will be replaced w/ another plant. I am finally perpetual. Excited about some new genetics going into flower soon. Especially the Violator Kush, the 2 great looking plants are beasts. Tons of nodes, super thick stocks and just plain beautiful.

I'll take and upload pics tonight.

OK heres some pics as promised.

Violator Kush Mom

Violator Kush Mom #2

Kushberry x Skunk Mom

LA Woman x Skunk going back into veg to clone from

Skunk #1 at 4 weeks, recovering from burn

Hashplant x Haze Mom just went into flower yesterday

My "keeper" strain, she also got burnt a little after light switch but seems OK. I pollinated a few flowers on her w/ LA Woman x Skunk. Noticed today that the seeds are starting to look close to being done.

Hashplant at 18 days flowering, those little flowers are already solid. No puff to them at all. Gotta say im pretty impressed w/ this strain. It clones super easy, is a vigorous grower and flowers quickly. We'll see in 6-7 weeks how it smokes.

I put a Violator Kush into flower today, she aint pretty and isnt worth cloning so I decided to make room and flower her now. Also put another Hashplant into flower today.
The cloner is full of Kushberry x Skunk and Violator Kush cuttings that Ive taken over the last couple days. The Kushberry seem to clone pretty quickly, they are the ones w/ roots. I cut them 3 days ago. The VK cuttings were taken today and yesterday.

Update Veg cabinet:

Been a weird week. I had some problems w/ my bubble cloner. I cleaned and changed the water out, used bleach on the tub and all hoses and gave them a good rinse. Still had problems w/ the VK stems rotting and not rooting.
I threw one of the clones into soil after using some rooting compound and it rooted in 2 days. So i bagged the cloner and put all my clones into soil on the heat mat w/ a dome. They all seem to be looking better and I think 2 are rooted already. So I think im sticking w/ the soil for clones again. I wanna keep it simple and the VK clones seem to like the soil MUCH more than the bubbler.
I also started a couple seeds DNA Genetics Rocklock and Sharksbreath. I put the LA Woman x Skunk back into flower. I had been hoping to use her as a Mother but she is just growing 1 big cola, so into flower she goes.

My Kushberry MOM is looking great and will be going into flower soon. Her cuttings are rooting so i gotta make room. She has 4 tops and I couldnt be happier w/ this plant. Very happy I took clones of her, the one flowering smells fantastic and is loaded w/ trichomes, even the fan leaves are frosty. So heres KB mom and her 4 tops:

Heres some quick pics of the VK and KB x Skunk clones rooting:

Adding to the weirdness is this:

I think it might be The Church seedling that didnt pop soil. After a week in disgust i threw the cup soil and all into my big tub of soil mix. I found the seedling growing in a Hashplant clones soil and pulled it out. I'll laught if it is The Church, after all I went through w/ the strain 1 keeper would make me happy.

Flowering closet:
this had become a headache, its self induced though. I should have topped the Hashplant and pruned them more. The ones that I didnt are getting out of control. It looks like some of plant torture chamber in there w/ the plants being twisted and tied all over. Lesson learned, all Hashplant clones will be getting topped and pruned more. My pics suck today trie to take some w/ light off and that was a mess. Ill upload some good pics tonight after lights go back on.

The Violator Kush is a week in flower now and startuing to develop some nice flowers. Im VERY pleased w/ this and the Kushberry. I will be running both perpetually.

The little Skunk #1 is starting to stink and look very nice. W/ 3 weeks left shes covered in trichomes, here she is:

Ill post some more pics of the flowering cab tonight.

Todays update is not a happy one. I've been without power and heat for almost 5 full days. We lost our power Thursday night and woke up Friday morning to see this trying to leave our street:

the sea is usually 15 feet below the rocks at high tide in this pic.:

We just got turned on 2 hours ago. Outside temps were in the 30's all 5 days. When we got home today to check for power it was cold enough to see our breath in the apartment. Not good. But all is not lost.

I was able to take the mother plants and the clones that I was rooting to a warm place w/ electricity (thanks Mom and Dad). There was no way that I could take my flowering plants anywhere. After I untied a Hashplant x Haze it was close to 6 feet tall. So I left them, opened the closet to let the sunlight hit the closet and hoped for the best. The plants are a little wilted, not too bad. I think they'll be OK, but Im worried about the stress from the low temps causing hermies.

My only real screw up was that I forgot a seedling of Rocklock and left it in the cold. It doubt it will make it make it and so far is the only casualty of the power being out for so long. I did bring the Sharksbreath seedling and that is doing fine.

I took advantage of the down time and redid my hoods ventilation. I shortened the run of hose down and eliminated a coupler that I had been using. The difference is noticeable. I think that the closet will be fine now during the hot summer months. I also clipped a bud of the Kushberry x Skunk last week and just gave it a sample. For not really having a cure yet it is still tasty. Hints of blueberry and a fuel type of taste.

I guess all the strains I have mothers from will have a nice stress test so I at least gain the knowledge of what is the heartiest of the strains im running now.

Ill take some and post pics of the plants tomorrow light are finally on now

Update w/ pics. Im using an old camera and for some reason i get alot more brown and yellow tones than the plants actually show. Gotta figure that out w/ the camera.

Much happier update after the storm and losing power and heat for almost 5 full days. All is well. I had 1 full on casualty, the Rocklock seedling didnt make it. The only other casualty was a Hashplant clone that was not doing well anyways. It lives on though, and out of respect for her fighting spirit Ill let her live through the rest of flowering. Im probably gonna give all my flowering plants 1 extra week to make up for the storm.

So on w/ the good stuff. My first Kushberry in flowering is looking nice and healthy, it seems to have withstood the stress better than everything else.

Here is VK, pic makes her look more brown than she is. Some of the lowest set of fan leaves took a beating from the storm, but she looks healthy otherwise

This is the top of the oldest Hashplant x Haze. She's about 4 weeks.

And finally Skunk #1 at 6.5 weeks. She is super sticky and stinky. Not like skunk though, more of a spicy kind of smell w/ a hint of skunk. Frosty and super sticky. I plan on revegging the bottom of the plant and taking clones. I know it will take a while for reveg and then enough growth to clone from but I don't care. I love how this plant strain grows, smells and looks. Of course the smoke will make the final decision, but I think its gonna be good.

On to the veg cabinet. Heres the next a few cuttings that just rooted ( VK and 2 Kushberry) and hit the veg chamber. I have 4 more VK and 4 more Kushberrys rooting in the cloning chamber.

VK clone 1.5 weeks after coming out of the cloner. More odd color tones from my camera and the HPS in the veg cabinet.

Hashplant that i topped for 4 tops and LST'd. Im ONLY gonna grow the Hasplant x Haze this way now. They stretch a ton in flowering and my flowering cabinet is filled w/ all Indica dominant strains. Seems the only way Im gonna have a decent canopy.

And last but not least is my mystery plant. I know it's either The Church or VK. It kind of has the same general look as the VK, but the node spacing seems a little different than all my other VK. And the Fan leaves a a little broader, those things are huge.
