Not free. You'll need to spend at least $15. But, Macbundler has an assortment of VPN apps on offer for Mac. http://bit.ly/2mbAxb0I'm strapped for cash and need a free VPN I have a MacBook and a samsung galaxy 5 active any info on how to stay anonymous would also be apprec.
Yes. Unless you wiped the image's metadata, someone with minimal geek skills could probably ID your location, what sort of hardware you use, etc., etc.Can anyone find info about me from an uploaded photo?
All I can do is suggest you research EXIF metadata. That's the most common metatag format that goes along with TIFFs and JPEGs (I'm not sure about PNGs or GIFs). It can include all kinds of data, including latitude and longitude, in location-aware devices.thanks for the info, can you elaborate on metadata
Do you know anything about Tor browser or the dark web?(Alphabay, Silk rd, Pirate Bay etc)
do you have any more info about how to anonymize my ip and local ?
(PNGs or GIFs TIFFs) not even gunna askAll I can do is suggest you research EXIF metadata. That's the most common metatag format that goes along with TIFFs and JPEGs (I'm not sure about PNGs or GIFs). It can include all kinds of data, including latitude and longitude, in location-aware devices.
It's been a while since I've used TOR, VPNs, or IP proxy servers. But, you might ask at a security site, since those guys stay up on it. There are router changes you can make. But, they were always above my geek grade (ask a network sys admin). BTW...last I heard (2-3 years ago), TOR had been compromised, quite possibly by the NSA. The story of how that came about is intriguing. But, the bottom line is that no-one trusts TOR now.
holy shit, thats scary man.. i can't imagine how its gunna be in a decade... there getting crazy with tech- is it hard to get around metadata?metadata is embeded in images from the device that took the image.
Basically covers all the information on the format, colour space, compression, resolution. Then with later devices that have built in GPS (Phones) they include GPS data.
Been lots of people busted by posting images that they took with the phone that didnt have the GPS location data wiped.
Or just be in a legal state but then you still have to worry about dodgy people getting that GPS locations and coming around to your place to rip you off.
Mate, try Hola [ http://bit.ly/2md8Zlh ]. It's a free VPN for Chrome. I used it for most of 2015, while overseas. It's a cool little browser extension that does not slow traffic anywhere near as much as some of the paid services I've used. It's super easy to start/stop and you can select what country you want to pass thru.(PNGs or GIFs TIFFs) not even gunna ask
i can't really afford to spend anything on my anonymity...damn is there anway a poor man can keep a godamn secret i just wanna be confident about getting an oz- w-out being paranoid if you hear of another browser let me know thnx
great tip man!, thanks for that!To check a pic you can just left click and go to properties then details. There's a link at the bottom of that box that says "remove properties and personal information".
