I wanted to keep a seperate journal of my hempy experiment from my soil grow. As this is my second grow ever, and my first try in hempy buckets, I will call it an experiment . I will be trying some topping and maybe some other things on this grow. Last grow I was hands off as much as I could to be sure I had something to harvest. Still a ways to go for that but looks good there so far.
I will be using 3 clones from my soil grow. One of each, Wonder Woman, White Widow, Indica Aurora. Now when I made these clones, I was just kinda goofing around waiting for some cloning gel to arrive. I just cut them and stuck em in some fox farms light warrior and in a dome. Bout 3 weeks later 3 of the 4 still survived.. Funny that the one strain I made two clones of.. the indica.. would be the one that died. . The mother plants are in the 3rd week of flowering atm, from nirvana fem seed stock. I have a second set of clones rooting now, that were taken last week and done properly with rooting gel. Basicly I wanted a spare set in case one didnt make it hehe. I'll grow them as well if they live, but likely in soil.
Fox farms line of nutes, grow big, big bloom, tiger bloom, and perhaps some AN overdrive. I have read you dont need the big bloom for this setup, but its listed on the fox farm hydro chart.. so I will have to research before I decide if im using that or not.
The first clone to be big enough to transplant is the wonder woman. This doesnt really surprise me , as she was the fastest growing and largest of the mother plants.
Veg will be done in a homemade box I built under cfls and perhaps some flourescent tubes if I think I need them.
Flowering in a 3.5x3.5x6.5 ft tent under 400 hps. may rotate them into the tent if it wont hurt them for a few hrs a day during veg.
Lots of pix
First I make a hempy bucket. I painted this tidy cat bucket, which holds 3.5 gallons, so the light cant shine on the roots, and put my hole at the bottom.

Then I fill it with perlite 100% as thats what I have handy. Its pretty dusty by the time you fill that bucket with perlite so I flushed it with about 10 gallons of water phed to 5.9. Then made a hole for my clone.

Then I tipped the party cup over while I had my hand cupped around the plant stem gently supporting it. I shook out the loose soil, then I put it in the hole I made and topped it off with perlite and gave it a bit of water. There was still a ball of soil about 1/4 the size of the cup in the roots, but I didnt wanna dmg the roots or stress it any worse so I just buried it in there. I dont expect it will hurt a thing Next clone I transplant i'll try to remember to get a pix of the roots.

Into the veg box she went under a couple of 25 w 6500k cfls.

Heres the veg box, and then the flowering tent with the mother plants. I call them mother plants, cause my clones came from them. I am not keeping them to mother any other clones. They are for me to smoke lol. Three weeks into flowering tomm.

Bout it for starters, all that was done last nite, today I just lightly watered her with 5.9 phed water. and heres a pix of her from today.
