Wahooo new 400 watt MH/HPS

How far should I keep the top of the plants from the bulb??? Give me a good range, due to heat I would like to have some leeway, you understand.

well if you use it from start to finish,at first you want it about 20" above um when there seedlings,you can lower it bit by bit day by day after that,when there about 2weeks old you should be able to have the light 10-12" above um,8" if you have a oscilating fan blowing on the tops of um,,,,,,,,,,,peace

Well some have already been above ground for a few weeks, on CFL's. They are gonna love the MH.

Aww, less than one hour into the 400 Watt MH, it blew. I dunno what happened it just went out, thank god i have the HPS to keep something on. I'm pissed though, i sent an email to the dude i bought it from.

Sorry to hear that GreenBean.......bad luck indeed. Was it a conversion bulb? I also wonder if you should keep your cfls on them as well for better vegging spectrum till the MH is up and running again. Best of luck to you.

Yes it was a conversion bulb, and i didn't think about the CFL's too, good idea i'll go throw them back on right now.
