Wal Mart Joffy Pots

Alright so Im about to do some cloning, Im thinking about 30 to start outside. I was at wal mart today and saw the jiffy pots, there were 2 different sizes the bigger ones for tomatoes I believe, just wanted to know what you guys thought of these, Im pretty sure they will work, Im just not sure whats in them, I assume they don't have many nutrients in them (any for that matter). Just makin sure cause I don't want to cut 30 clones and end up burning them all up.

bump, also how long do you think I should keep them in their jiffy pots once they have roots? I assume about a week becuase there isnt a whole lot of room in each pot for root growth

I've done at least 50 clones in peat plugs and they have always worked fine. Just get a cloning/rooting hormone and put at the bottom of the clone. You can cut a few notches at the bottom of the clone and that will stimulate rooting at those notches as well. Keep the peat plugs inside a humidity dome and leave them in there until the roots start taking. You will see "new" growth on the clones at this point. Then you can transfer to a container and water. Its not too difficult. Some people may recommend other mediums beside peat, but its always worked pretty well for me.

Jiffy pots are actually used throughout the grow. When you transplant - you put the whole pot into the dirt. The roots will grow through the pot and into the soil. As the pots take moisture they will dissolve. If you plant them just make sure the pots are fully buried

im using jiffy pots right now and have used them before with a 100% success rate

cool cool, yeah Im just going to start my clones in them then just plant the jiffy pots in the ground for my outdoor grow this year
