water curing

ok so i had to chop down my first baby a few weeks early. so probably thinking that the thc levels werent high enough, i decided to water cure this plant. so from what ive read let the buds soak in water for about 4 days changing the water everyday? then what????

I've read seven days under water.

After, you just hang and dry like normal. After a water cure they dry fairly quickly considering they were soaking in water, surprisingly.

your pouring out the water? are you saving the water to get the trichomes out of it? I dont understand what your trying to do?
Why did you pull them early?

ive also read that there is no smell. can i add lemons or something while its in the water

I tried water curing about an 1/8th of some outdoor I had last year...

What I did was put them in containers of water for 7 days, changing the water every day. Then let it air dry for about a day, with plenty of air circulation. Almost no smell, and the buds were much darker then the rest that I dry cured.

But if you want to have stuff that's ready to smoke in less than 2 weeks from cutting, and you don't care that it doesn't smell as dank as the dry cured stuff, then water curing isn't a bad way to go. I never thought of putting lemon peel or orange in the water to improve taste...i'm sure it couldn't hurt, let us know if it makes any difference though! Happy curing...

ok well i just put the lemons in the jars, so we'll kno in a week. how was the smoke wasserfaller??

I tried it earlier this month with a hermi I pulled. Water cured for 7 days vs air and jar for a fortnight.
I am about to rip a plant with about 6 bags which I want for NYE and will probably water cure the whole lot. The result is smaller(weighs less so not so flash if you are commercial) but stronger and smoother buds, albeit without that 'dank' smell.
I used a plastic tub half filled with water, with a potato masher to hold the buds down, changing the water every day. It was only really days 3 and 4 that I got dirty looking water from it.
I checked the trichs afterwards and they were the same as those on the buds I air dried.
There doesn't seem to be a lot of water curing information on this site, it's one of few topics I have had to google and visit a few other forums for.
Best of luck, but give it a bash, seeing is believing! It's one of those things that just doesn't seem to make sense until you see it in action.
I get the feeling we still don't know jackshit about growing or curing, who knows maybe steam or something totally different and illogical will be the way of the future.
