I live in a rural community that has the worst water quality I've ever seen. I want to get some feedback on water options.
Option one is install a RO system in my kitchen. Pros:very good water quality and once it's installed it's easy to deal with.
Cons: little expensive to set up, filters are expensive, takes forever to get enough water out of that reservoir to feed the plants, may filter out to much ppm and I have to add extra nutrients.
Option 2 regular under sink carbon filter. Pros are it can run water alot faster than RO and is cheaper than RO.
Cons: I don't think this filter will clean enough to be healthy for my plants.
Option 3 filtered water from the store. Pros: no need to buy equipment, simply just go to the local store and pick up a bottle for five bucks.
Cons: $5 over and over again can add up over time to be alot more than any system. Also it's a hassle to constantly be bringing water home and a give away to the neighbors.
