boiling will take out natural nute's. minerals.
the easyist way is to just let the water set out for a day or two, if its an emergancy you can use distilled water. make shure to ph and add some epsome salts. distilled water has no trace minerals so add the epsome.
and usaly has a ph of 7.0.

the salts replace vital trace elements, that your plant needs Ie; copper,boron,magnesum, etc. If you use tap water that isnt filtered all of these are most likly in your water already. if your useing distilled or reverse osmosis water these elements get filtered out during the purifcation stage. and can have you pulling your hair out, when your trying to figure out whats wrong with your plant. trust me you dont want to be thare. epsoms are usaly added a tble spoon per gal I tend to think that this is a bit excessive, but this is what most expert growers recomend. I personaly take a big pinch of the salts and thats it you can always top dress if needed. I take any nute slow untell i know the properties of it.
just try a pinch and add if you see that your plant is doing something outa charictor .

I sold water filters for a living for a year and I had to go to a two day school on water, clorine, filters, sales, etc
We were taught to go to a house, to a prospect, and have a swimming pool clorine test kit, that cost $4.00 then, might be $5 or $6 now. It will do 5 tests.
We would frighten the prospective buyer, show them that the water was too highly clorinated to swim in, much less to drink, and they would buy a water filter.
We also learned that you can run city water over the palm of your hand, and the heat of your hand will "disapate it" or make it evaporate within seconds.
I've been challenged on this fact a few times, but I swear on my honor, it is true.
You can buy a cheap swimming pool test kit and try it.

I've never heard that one before. I've always been under the impression that aeration was much more important than temperature - especially any trivial temperature change you might get by pouring the water over your hand. I had to try this!
I poured a gallon of water back and forth, several times, over my hand, measuring the temperature both before and after. I then repeated the experiment, without "the hand". The results from experiment "A" and experiment "B" (both before and after) were virtually the same - no change! Actually there was a very small amount of temperature change, similar to what might be expected by letting tapwater set for "a minute or two" at room temperature.
My little experiment didn't measure chlorine levels, only temperature. But, there was a lot of aeration going on, with all the water pouring! If your "Heat Theory" was consistant, wouldn't a pool heater instantly neutralize any chlorine, "within seconds"?
if your concerned about chlorine you have two options : distill for 24 hrs in an open container or get some dechlorinating drops from the fish store.
boiling that much water is pretty much an absurd thought and a waste of lots of electricity. please for the sake of humanity don't do it.

really once the plants are out of th eseedling stage you can pretty much use tap water and they won't have problems, as long as you live in an area with decent water.

THis guy saying the stuff about the water filter, and youll grow algie with in a day, dont have a clue.
place your water in what ever you decide to use, If you plan on boiling the water, the only thing thats going to happen is, any bacteria left in the water after treatment at the treatment plant. which is possible because of old water lines. will be dead. thats it, heat will not disapate the clorine.
if you do happen to leave your water out in the open under a 100 watt hps yes youll grow some green stuff. But what kinda idiot would do this knowing that algie needs light to grow.
This doesnt dissmiss the fact that theres something called google use it. It helps.
