Water sterilizer idea

Was thinking rather than chill my res which takes alot of power and space that I would hang a reptile ubv bulb above my res to kill any bacteria and fungi. Will it work? Opinions?

No, pretty sure it will just heat your water up which is a bad idea for other resons than pathogens...

i would try to sanitize your water inline to the pump using something like this. rather then trying to use UV to penetrate deep into your resevoir.

UV-C is what is used to sterilize, not UV-B.
