Water system set-up. Is this the right oder of items?

I’m a newbie so Ihope all understand my questions. Will be using a 5x5 grow tent with a BubbleFlow Bucket System and LED lighting.

This will be my water system set-up and wanting to know if the order of items is okay or should I tweak it and change the order.

Running tap water into a Reverse Osmosis System and havingit flow into reserve reservoir. Then whenready have the water from reserve reservoir flow into a water chiller which will then flow into main reservoirthat directly feeds the buckets with water. One more question, should I putmy nutrients in the reserve reservoir or into the main reservoir? Any suggestions and tips would be greatlyappreciated. I’ve waited many years tostart my own grow operation and now the time is right to begin.

Ok for starters, put a pressure float valve in your RO water output tank. This will stop the filter when tank is full. Add nothing into this tank.

Second, put a gravity float on your hydroponic reservoir so as to maintain operating level. Run this float off your storage tank.

Every three days I empty my system (close valve from ro storage to reservoir and open valve from reservoir to floor drain). While draining I pull enough water from ro storage to mix nutrients to refill the system. When empty I close valve to floor drain. Then I add the mixed nutrients into the system. Once filled open the valve from ro storage to reservoir float.

My storage tank is a 300 gallon vertical and my mix tank is a 30 gallon drum.

What he said. I don't know about the whole drain every three days though. That seems pretty excessive.

To be quite honest, I have a similar set up just DIY. It's basically 14 DWC buckets connected to a central Rez. Water is emptied into Rez and refills the buckets via an ebb and flow control bucket. I used to change my Rez every week. Then every two weeks. Now, unless there is some issue, I never drain the Rez. I just top off with tap until it gets pretty low and then mix a whole new batch on top of the old one.

Granted, your Rez is very small and this might not work. I have a 250 gallon Rez for those 14 4 gallon buckets.

You can add Nutes and PH adjustment in your top off barrel (25 gallon tote would be fine). But how much to add is going to take time to learn based on your plant conditions, age, and environment. If warm and dry with big plants and co2 you may only need to add straight tap. In less strenuous conditions..like say veg, you may do well to have your barrel at about 300 ppm and 5.5.

This will make it easier to keep conditions ideal in the plant buckets.

Compredo?
