Water

When and how do you properly water? How to check when to water?

Help would be great as I already trashed one plant due to over watering?

im also kinda new, what seems to be working great for me is letting the surface of the soil begin to crust. when the top is completley dry, stick your pinky finger half inch to an inch into the soil, if that is also dry its time to water. good luck with your grow.:bigjoint:

yep stick a finger in about an inch or so and you should be good to see if it's dry. i also check by weight. feel the pot when you know it's dry and check it again after you water. gives you a good indication of how dry they are. another way is to get a soil moisture meter but imo it's overkill and an unnecessary expense. finger method works fine and so does just getting a feeling of the weight of the pots. i do both. missing a day of watering is better than watering an extra day. a dry plant as long as it's established should bounce right back from a good watering but it's fairly easy to drown a plant as you have unfortunately found out goodluck and happy growing

I am on my first grow. My plants have been watered 6 times in 5 weeks. 12 plants and they get 3 gallons of water between them and are pretty effing healthy.

i have 12 plants right now and i do a half gallon about twice a week per plant. depends alot on the environment. meaning heat light ventilation and air flow. i run 2 1k lights with 3 oscillating fans my airscrubber and i currently have a vortex bringing in cold air from outside to keep temps under control till i hook up my a/c. goodluck and happy growing

i got my one mystery plant in a 2 gal pot under CFL's. I water here every other day (about when the pot is lite enough) and every other water i alternate between Botanicare's Pure Blend Pro Grow and Liquid Karma! So far so good. Hope i could be of help!

Also i think your growing medium might effect how often you water, im using Just Right Xtra.
