Well if its just a 5 gallon pot then i wouldnt bother watering it at all. ;)
thats funny. any way theres no pre determined amount of water to give ur plants. if the soils dry give them a good watering, and when its dry again, another good watering, also check to see that the soil below the surface is also dry before watering, soil on top can look dry as a bone while below its still cool and moist, this is how i and many others do it. some water based on the weight of the pot, its much heavier after a watering. some wait till the plant droops slightly. all these are good ways of determinig when ur plant needs water.

Like these guys have said it is best to let soil dry out and then give the plant a good watering. Cannabis is a plant that does not thrive in soggy, soaked soil. In my experience it is always best to let the soil dry out to about one inch below the surface and then give the plant a thorough watering. Let it cycle from being dry to wet.
