Thought I would document the making of my WCAP-Water Soluble Calcium Phosphate
I used a Serrano Ham Bone which I charred cooked until all the organic matter was burnt off and left with heavily charred bone which is down to its mineral content only, this took 3hrs approximately with constant attention and turning. Visually, I can't tell the difference between yellow and green. How do you tell the difference? Is it different textures?

Main difference between the two is the yellow when broken goes almost to dust as opposed to the green has an almost a honeycomb texture when broken think either one could be used successfully just not together due to size I will only be using the green

So have chosen my material, sterilised jars , added I part bone to 10 parts raw organic apple cider vinegar - I can’t source brown rice vinegar ! I didn't char mine like you did. I used chicken and beef bones from Pho stock. They were boiled for hours before roasting them in the oven. The chicken bones broke down really easy but some of the beef bones were harder to pulverize. I just used regular rice vinegar.


The one on the right is the WCP. The one on the left is WCA from eggshells. I'm going to make an extraction using crab shells as well. I haven't been able to find any specific recipe for doing that but I'll just follow the same procedures and dilute 1:1000 to start with. The DTE crab shells have an NPK of 4-3-0 so I'm hoping to get a nitrogen rich fertilizer.

Very cool you gotta a link @xtsho please ? @Leeski is it necessary to strain? I made my WCA with oyster shell flower and apple cider vinegar a while ago and never bothered to strain the sediment out. My thought process was that I would get every bit of Ca I could by leaving it in, but now I’m wondering if maybe it’s degrading because in the past month it went from a nice golden brown to a dark brown! Do you think it’s still ok or should I make a new batch?image.jpg

I put everything through coffee filters and tbh I don’t really know if yours has degraded and if so why maybe @xtsho maybe better to answer your question mate

Yea, it getting darker is throwing me off because it was a light golden brown for a long while.
Also, It’s been in a decent environment as well, however light does occasionally hit it for hours at a time (when I’m in the basement) maybe thatcould have something to do with it getting darker
