While I haven't been a direct recipient of extreme examples of this, I've certainly read them here. Let me just say,
Yes, I'm new at this, but so were all of us at one point.
Yes, I may ask a question that has been asked before, then enlighten me with your knowledge.
Yes, I'm going to make some dumb mistakes, then kindly direct me to the correct path.

I've never understood why people feel the need to blast other people. Let's be civil. Point us Newbie's in the right direction. Share your wealth of knowledge. Eventually, we will be helping guide and shape this forum after you are composted and used to fertilize my plants!

Welcome MASS!! I'm new to this too but I try to help when I can. Disregard the flamers, there's alot of knowledgeable folks on this site to learn from.

What really annoys me about this site is when people misspell words or write incomplete sentences they get flamed for it. Maybe that person didn't finish school, or maybe he is a little slower than you are? Why cause them grief, just try to help with their question thats what I thought this site was all about.

Don't sweat the assholes, they gain infractions and sooner or later a perma ban.... The mods put up with a lot of shit, but they will not tolerate personal attacks.

Please be sure to learn the Advanced Search feature located at the top right of the page. It will save you a ton of headache. It has saved me a few times from posting up something that has most assuredly been either asked, or posted before us newbs came along.

great post man! anything i can do to help let me know. I'm always willing to help a fellow grower and who cares if it has been asked before or if you make a mistake we all DO make mistake's and when you stop making them you've stopped trying to progress (or maybe you're perfect).

where did he make a demand and where did he demand a specific format? he's just saying be chill, help a noob our or don't comment which i personally believe is the way it should be.

like i said before so what the answer is out there somewhere dont flame him he may not be tech savvy and able to identify the keywords to use in a search to find the answer to his question. odds are if you have a question about a area you may have limited information on the subject limiting your understanding of the jargon used which will make searching difficult. i helped a guy the other day elsewhere who was having problems finding basic DWC info because he knew them as bubblers only. a few simple questions and looking at the verbiage he was using and the issue was resolved. not only did i help him with his problem i gave him the verbiage to use to have better success when searching and now he has power.

I could not agree with you more on this. This website is for information purposes only.. but at the same time, its a community too, the RIU community. When I first joined the community here, I think it was probably somewhere between 4 and 6 months before I got my first criticism. 80% of the time, its some uneducated kid (some of them I'm sure are adults too, that's scary.) who has no life and nothing else better to do. Nothing to do with their "free" time. I personally believe that we could all get along.. and we could. It's plausible to achieve complete peace among all members but, at the same time.. your always going to have that one asshole that lives within the community. But, if you could somehow get rid of all negative energies.. then yeah, its very possible to achieve total peace and calm among the entire RIU online community.

Those are my thoughts atm..

I have found that Google is definitely your friend, actually I use ixquick because they don't save your search history, and many times if I type in an actual question, like: How do you tell the sex of a marijuana plant?, for instance, I get what I'm looking for, and more times than not the appropriate thread from this forum ends up being in the results.
