Week 8 of first grow

Wrapping up my first grow. Got some fading going on with the white widow, I think shes about 1-2 weeks from harvest. Blueberry is probably closer to 3 weeks. I am kind of supprised the WW matured quicker since it shows more Sativa traits, but here we are. The purples coming out of the WW may not be a sign of good health, but it looks sexy as hell. Looking forward to harvesting soon and getting my next grow started!

Best not to count chickens before they are harvested and cured in jars.

Nice chunky nugs. Lots of sugar. Should be a good harvest. Make sure you got your dry and cure on point. Don't use the stem snap method. That is to dry. I like to get them in the jar low 70s. Then burb down to 65 for long term storage.

Nice swelling going on, 2 weeks is probably spot on. Those are pretty dense flowers, you'll definitely get a nice harvest. Nice to see some White Widow, I love the 90s classics. I'm growing out a single White Widow S1 soon as part of my next grow. I see you used Jack's at 1.2 EC? I find that pretty much the perfect EC too. About a pound for sure! Probably more.

I have been doing so much research on this and I am really unsure what methods would suit my needs best. Should I separate the branches or dry the plant as a whole? Do I trim after chop or wait until they are ready to go into jars?

I have a veg tent going atm with 7 peyote wifi, i was thinking about flipping them the same day as chop and using the veg tent as a curing tent. Idk

I have a 2nd tent that I use for drying cause I usually stagger my harvest.

The more you leave on the buds the longer it takes to dry.

Dry trimming is much more difficult than wet.

It only takes my stuff 5 days to get dry enough to jar. Most say that is to short but if I leave it longer it will be under 60 when I jar. Everybkdy has different situations. Gotta kinda find what works for you.

My temp is what ever it is inside. So 77 summer. 72 winter.

Hummidity is very hard for me to control thus the quick dry time. But I'm usually able to keep it in the 60s with some small fans and wet towels.

Drying has been a struggle for me to be honest. I always ended up over dry. So I basically end up finishing my dry in the jar to be safe.

My methods are 100% not the best way to do things. Just how I have managed.

This is all personal use, so I am not too worried about getting the absolute best smoke (especially as a first timer) so I appreciate the advice none the less. I am fine with taking a little longer to dry with burping jars anyway. KISS never fails.

Get your hands on a bunch of hydrometer so you can monitor your jars. Can get the little square ones on Amazon for an ok amount. Just replace the batteries when they die.

You always want to be in the jar a little wet. Then you can slowly drop it down over time. Once it dried under 55%...it is dry dry. No coming back.

Having the meters in the jars makes this possible.

I use these goofy hangers you can get at Wal-Mart for my buds. I leave long stems on them so it makes trimming easier. That way I have something to grab.

I managed to get a 10-11 day dry in a room with 15% humidity and constant fan/ac through some trial and error.

using a cardboard box is supposed to work too, but I ended up chopping the branches and leaving them all out for 15-20 hours and then putting them into small plastic tubs. Every morning I’d dump them out and let them sit for 2-3 hours then put them back with the lid loosely set on top.

below 7 days the bud stayed harsh for a lot longer in the jar. either way about three weeks after the plants came down it was all pretty good stuff.

So did you hang the plants for 10-11 days and then put them in tubs, or did you leave them out for an initial 15-20 hours before boxing your bud?

How heavily does a chopped plant transpire? Enough to raise the ambient humidity of a tent with an exaust fan on low?

No if I hang them they’ll be dry in 2-3 days.

I leave them out initially to get rid of a big chunk of moisture to avoid mold and then try to drag out the rest as long as possible.

they’ll raise the rh quite a bit. Usually the first few days the hygrometer I put in with them is back into the high 90s a couple hours after putting them back in the tub.
