weird?

My friend has been smoking for Id say 30+ years and to save money grows like one plant..she knows a lot of people who smoke and grow as well.. and over the years i've been witness to the difficulties they have growing a plant. I don't smoke, nor do I want to sell weed, but is it totally weird that after watching from the sidelines for years, that I'm dying to buy some seeds and grow some just so i can say "look at mine!"

If you don't honestly smoke now you will when you get your first successful harvest ......but wanting to get some seeds and show off or say look at mine as you say when it's done is much more work than you think ......from seeds to look at my harvest is a huge gap that we all know as growing ....it is a great hobby and lots of fun but your in for a suprise if you think your guna jump in from the sidelines and start growing awesome plants everytime ........but if you enjoy gardening of any sort you'll enjoy growing mmj Good luck Do your homework

im not sure.. the friend i mentioned wants seeds for next year..the plant shes growing now she has no clue what it is..she happened to find a seed in one of her quarters but she had it in the drawer for a while and didnt know what kind it was by the time she thought about planting it..but accorfing to her i have an annoying habbit of googling everything..(shes right).. and she cant be bothered..so ive been looking up strains..she has bad bad insomnia, but also wants a somewhat giggly or happy weed so ill try to find her two different kinds..right now its just deciding what kind to get..then it will be figuring out where to order from..no clue..but i assume through reading various things, im best to buy feminized seeds? ill learn as i go but as for what kind id get, i dont really care..but something that if i managed to grown it nicely and it turned out, i want something i can give to people they are going to like

i live with the smoker i mentioned..so i watch her.. i also see the mistakes she makes as well as her triumphs so to speak..and its obviously just a gut feeling but i think i could do it better..i do alot more resesrch..not to mention, unlike her, if mine didnt work out, or someone stole it..i wouldnt freak out lol

it looks fun and rewarding..well maybe satisfying is a better word..not to mention honestly its kindof a pretty plant and the different stages are really neat to watch

It's definately a fun hobby and there is a sense of accomplishment when a harvest is successful ....I'm not putting you down or nothing I'm just saying watching someone do it and doing it yourself are two different things ....the biggest thing is just keeping it simple and having a good nute line and soil ....but if you've paid good attention to your friends successes and failures than your a step ahead of a lot of first timers ........hope it goes as planned for you

thank you :-) and admittedly have no idea what a nute line is so apparently i have lots of learning to do :-)

Yes, you would freak out. After growing and nurturing something for several months, ppl tend to get attached. Plus, you'll have it pre-sold to your roommate and two friends and hoping to payoff the electric bill with it.

lol youre probably right...last year we used to leave a plate of leftover dinner every night on our back porch for the raccoons..they never touched our garden..meanwhile neighbours gardens were ransacked..this year we didnt leave food out..guess who has half eaten cucumbers and tomatoes all over..so yes..if i grew weed and something happened i prob would be upset...just like the veggies..but not mad :-)

Man, seems a strange scenario to me, on one hand you want to grow an impressive plant, well that could be either a huge plant, a very potent one, or a finicky long flowering sativa that yields low but is a true connoisseur smoke, at any rate to accomplish this is going to take a decent upfront capital investment on your part, nothing insane but at least around 3-400, now if you go the cheap rout you can get a plant to harvest with just a few basic nutrients and cfls, but that won't really impress your growing friends. It's also a pretty decent legal risk depending on your location and seems not worth the risk for just a hey look at me kind of thing....perhaps just grow a record breaking tomato or pumpkin, both would be pretty damned impressive to just about anyone who's grown anything.
