Just a few short days ago, we had a sudden death in the family. Even though my aunt and uncle was no longer together i still considered him my uncle. A few days ago my uncle was awoke with shortness of breath, his wife was in the hospital at the time, but one of her family members were there with him. He yelled out for her to call 911 which this person did. It didn't take long for the ambulance to get there. On the way to the hospital my uncle lost consensus. The parametric worked, and worked on him but they never could get him to come back. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

This weighed heavy on everyone, and it hit my cousins pretty hard (my uncle kids). I'm worried about my cousins, especially the male cousin. He already has A LOT on his plate prior to this happening with his kids and his wife. He didn't have a good color at all, he was white as a piece of cotton.

His grand kids were devastated, the next to the youngest kept asking who died for the last few days, and they would tell him his papa died. I don't think this was registering with him, because he didn't shed a tear. Today it all came out when he seen his papa laying in the casket. He cried and cried and would say his papa aint dead, he just sleeping. He would go back and forwards to the casket crying, picking up his papas hand and allowing it to fall back down and would try to get in the casket and lay on his papa.

When his papa was taking a nap, the little one would crawl up on him and nap with him. I think this is what he was wanting to do.

Very, very sad last few days.

Fama semper vivat. Vita enim mortuorum in memoria est posita vivorum.

May his fame last forever. The life of the dead is retained in the memory of the living.

Its ironic that it still loses something in the translation into English. Words do little to convey true emotion and meaning.

May you and your family stay strong.

I'm so sorry to hear of his sudden passing. Neither he not those he cared about the most got a chance to say goodbye and the lack of closure makes it so much harder.

Be there for those affected, it will bring you all closer.
