What are the best terpenes for migraines?

I'm sorry you have migraines. Here's some research. Essentially I'd be concerned the terpenes could be triggering. Usually THC is the active pain component while CBD is the active inflammation component. I'd aim for higher THC options. The saddest thing is the lagging in release of Sativex. That full spectrum, higher THC inhalant had my interest sadly it seems to have stalled out.

Here's an interesting meta analysis on this subject.

Let's hope the US re-scheduling will lead to actual science on this. Best of luck getting those migraines under control.

Thank you very much for this information. I will go through this and have a further chat with the doctor. It's hard to find any kind of real relief when bad migraines hit so rather than just keep trying different types of cannabis I wanted to really hone in on terpenes if they could be a treatment but the doctors only seem to know about the major terpenes.

Have you tried a CGRP inhibitor? If not ask him about that. It's not cannabis but who cares as long as you get relief. Best of luck getting some relief. Migraines suck.

The usual ones suggested by the doc is limonene but it makes my migraine worse. Any ideas?
I don't know about terps, but I sometimes get migraines, the bad ones that make you feel like you are super hung-over, and I swear by the indicas for medicine. I personally like the landracey ones the best. Some of them taste pretty rank at first, but a good few hits in, and I can feel relief. It's not like the pain or sickness goes away completely, it's just that you don't mind it so much... mutes its ickyness... I'd also recommend keeping some ibuprofen around, and taking a few too if it starts to get really bad, then just try to keep it together until they absorb. Catching before it hits is probably the best remedy... but that's just my experience, you might get them worse than me.

Hey there! I feel your pain, literally! Migraines are the worst, and finding ways to manage them can be a real challenge...

It's interesting that limonene, which is often suggested for headaches, doesn't work for you. Everyone's body chemistry is different, and terpenes can interact with it in various ways. In fact, some folks find limonene to be too stimulating for migraines.

Beta-Caryophyllene (BCP): This spicy terpene, found in black pepper and cloves, is a superstar anti-inflammatory. Research suggests it might be particularly helpful for migraines because inflammation is often a contributing factor.

Linalool: This floral terpene, found in lavender, is known for its calming and relaxing properties. Studies suggest it can help ease anxiety, which can be a migraine trigger for some people.

I got a Trainwreck variant of some sort and it has the BCP - so far its working pretty good. I was advised though that I may get a tolerance to it and then need a different combination.

I would start with air quality checking and monitoring If I was you (co2, co, radon)
Also making sure I'm hydrated and maybe getting a blood test and seeing how salty my diet was
If that's not it, possibly checking out how blue1 light can give headaches, and doing the recommended blue light filter glasses and such
I don't suffer from it but my wife does. Whenever she starts using her glasses it helps alot with her headaches. I would hate wearing glasses anything like that I really would fidget with it so much and I can understand why it's hard to do it
Diet may also play a hand
Hope this helps this is just my opinion and experience!

Dehydration, stress, neck/shoulder tension and lack of sleep are my triggers. My typical cure is aspirin, caffeine (tea, whatever) & meditation. I meditate for an hour or two, typically end up falling asleep and wake up symptom free. Not even the lingering physical & emotional aftereffects.
