What causes the tips of buds to stretch?

My buds were growning fine until recently when I noticed the very tip is stretching much more and the bud is not filling out. This is the 7th flowering week of sativa type.

Not sure what the name of the plant is because I couldn't understand the guys accent. It's White something but maybe not Window.

i need some big time help with this issue pleeeeeze. i have plants on their 4th generation that always had short,stocky buds. this time, even on some of the stocky buds, the middle has begun to grow in an outstretched manner, like it was starting to veg again, only that this growth looks a little stretched and deformed. the leaves that are new have a yellow hint to them and it has happened to 3 completely different strains. these plants were almost ready and started growing this stuff. i can think of two things possibly, but i am a newbie so i am probably wrong. first, when i left town, somehow my buddy managed to mess with my lights while in 4th week of flower and they were off for two days, or i used the veg nutrients instead of the flower ones by accident. any help would be greatly appreciated

finally got my shit together. here are a couple of pictures, if you can believe, identical strains. even the one that had budded started getting little growths at the tip. thanks for your help

yea the first pic shows a sativa pheno and the second pic a indica pheno. of the same strain.
the sativa pheno is showing the gentic bud stretch. it should fill out.

plants are looking good. nothing to worry about.

Are the two plants from the same seed stock or cuttings from the same plant?
