Did you read the LST thread in the advanced techniques forum? The author goes pretty in depth explaining the effects of manipulating your plant's growth with LST.

provides more growing room when height is a restriction, provides light penetration for under growth...stimulates multi-kola growth instead of one main, increases yield 2-3x's depending on strain, environment & growers knowledge. a great option for indoor growers primarily.

i read it im just being over cautious because im new to doing this so dont be shy on making suggestions lol
If you actually read that thread I'm not sure why you would be asking what LST does. I think the author made it more than obvious.

the time it takes to leave some sarcastic response, folks could just answer the question...the only problem with forums...idiots going out of their way to start and or spread negativity..

That didn't seem very sarcastic IMO.
It rings very true.
If it the OP didn't understand the how too thread. He/She should read it over and over.:peace:

And calling people idiots is what...spreading positivity?

Directing the OP to the LST thread is the responsible thing to do, the author does a better job of explaining the process than many of us could.

I actually didn't realize you had posted an answer, my bad. In any event... LST good, internet bickering bad.

BTW, I'm using LST on an outdoor plant and the response, after topping, has been noticeable in just the few days since tying down the main branches. So it seems like a good technique for outdoors as well.

And I might add.
Doing the 4 mains topping, then spreading the 4 mains out (LST) is quite the treat !!
It awakes the Beast !!

That's exactly the method I'm using. Not a big plant yet, but the season is young and she's on her way. Just from the preliminary results, I'm a fan of LST.

I put a screen up a few weeks before flowering and spread them out real nice.
And DAMN it made for a sexy canopy.
About a week from harvest now but I'm doing the same with the clones I took.
Should be the same wow factor all over again !!

This is when i tied the 4 mains out, About 2/3 week later most all of the secondary chutes caught up to the 4.
This is one of the two ladies I trained.
Didn't have room to do all 3.
