what is the stuff pealing off my stems?

I see it sometimes on my older plants or when harvesting, it looks like the bark of the main stem is pealing back, like shedding. I ask because its now happening to my little 10 day old plants ever since I started using hygrozyme. Is it normal and I just never noticed it before?

is this happening because of growth? like shedding or streaching the outer skin because of growth. or is it the plant trying to fight off drying out by replacing the outer skin or surface?

Thanks everyone, its not that I'm worried about it, just never noticed it before I started using hygrozyme, looks like its some good stuff, if it is indeed new growth.
