What materials can't heat sensors see through? And what low smell strains?

I'd like to grow again. Outdoors is too risky at the moment, so it'll have to be indoors. Does anybody here know of any thing that the cops heat sensors can't see through? They're also called infa red or IR cameras. The chopper flies by quite often and I don't want him looking through my walls . I'll have room to grow about 6 plants under 2 or 3 200W CFLs

Also, to hit two birds with one stone, are there any particular strains that give off very little smell when flowering? I'm hoping for an indica or 2, and a sativa/ indica blend, so any weak smelling strains? I'd really like to grow Blueberry, wondering how that smelt?

I'm getting concerned about growing now you see, with weed going back to class B in the UK! Tougher penalties from january onwards

woudnt think u would need any thing for 3x 200w cfls back ov a tv probably gives out more heat

Cheers for that info. I've been reading up on that other thread too, interesting read. I think with just a few CFLs I should be alright then, plus i'll not be venting heat. I was going to have the plants in an empty space in my attic room, right on the edge of the room, about 5ft under the roof tiles, but I don't think i'll put them there anymore. I'll find somewhere on the 1st floor, maybe in the little closet under the attic stairs. The closet is directly behind the computer, so there would be more heat from the computer and people never look there. Sorted

Actually mate I hear having your plants in an insulated attic works well against the IR scanners. Just remember they cant scan your house without your consent or a warrent, at least in most places. (Of course my post count isn't too high so dont take my word for it )

Thats just all a part of growing. We KNOW it's illegal when we decide to do it, so whats the deal? The person who can breed a plant that doesn't stink is gonna be rich. I can see it now, we'll call it "Urban Guerrilla", and market it to college dorm grows.
Count on it stinking to high heaven, and move on. That way, you're covered. Odor control just never became an issue on my first grow, but I was ready if it did. I'll tell you this, don't let anyone near your house when you harvest. THAT'S when odor became a real problem for a few days.

As far as FLIR is concerned, the cops don't even realize that you exist or what you're doing. Those choppers flying around are most likely on other business. (There are other uses for helicopters) It's hard not to let paranoia creep up on ya tho. I was convinced that from the moment the first seed popped thru, it signaled every cop in 3 states.

Your biggest opponent and cops best friend in all of this is YOU! They count on the fact that you're gonna tell someone who will then snitch you out. By their OWN ADMISSION, cops couldn't catch a cold without a snitch to tell them where it is and what time it'll be there. Or some absolutely stupid shit will go down and they will stumble onto you. The likelihood of getting caught thru the efforts of actual police work is so slim as to be nonexistent. As long as you don't pop up on radar you're good. Especially with the heat sig that those CFLs are pumping out!!!!

I used some 3/4 in. "furring" strips and 1" foam insulation (with the silver foil on one side) on all exterior walls and ceiling. Foil facing into the room, and that 3/4 in. dead airspace will kill almost any heat signature. But its there to give me peace of mind, and it's working.
