i'm looking at grow tents and wanting to get one bought and sorted today. i'll be using a 400w hps in it.

i've only got 3 plants to grow - tangerine dream, strawberry blue and a fruit auto

question is do i want an 80 x 80 x 160cm or a 60 x 60 x 140cm ?

i dont want my babies getting cramped and restricted but at the same time i dont want the 400w to get lost in too big a space.

any thoughts?

I'm growing in a 20"x36"x60" tent with a 400w hps. I'd say that should be the smallest and max should be no more than 4'x4'

I don't think you should grow more than 2 plants under a 400w. Hell, I think there should only be 1 plant per light then scrog it to get max yield out of each plant.

Get a 4x4 if you don't want them getting cramped. I've got a 400w in a 4x4 and it's just right for 2-3 plants (4 is too crowded)

In my opinion, air circulation is far more important than the fractional ambient light improvement a smaller closet has. There are better ways to increase production without having your plants right up against the walls.

I have a 600 watt in a 4x4 tent. I have 3 large plants in there. My friend has a 400 watt in a 4x4 and it works perfectly for him. 4x4 is what I would recommend.

i agree, im doing 600w in a 4x4 and its the perfect size. but a 3x3 with a 400w would be fine too
