hey go down too your local hydroponics store they should have some good soil u want too make sure it doesent keep water in as u want it too have good drainage avoid cheap potting soil that u get in garden centres which has alot wood in it as these dont drain very well and u will get problems

soils that have stuff like perlite in them tend too best as these have good drainage

i myself have used canna professional and canna professional + quit a few times but there are other makes that are just as good if u from the usa theres that foxfarm i think its called i not used it but alot of ppl have who are from the usa as u cant get it in the uk

get canna professional plus if u dnt have a hydroponics store near you order it online from here http://www.hydroponics.co.uk/

there are quit alot of different soils on there that would be suitable but i myself have only used canna stuff

Roots Organic Potting Soil

or a soiless mix, Sunshine #4....This is the way to go for a newb, IMO. If you use a soiless mix it won't have any nutrients in it. This will alow you to learn what your plant is using with out guess work. Plus, you can learn a nutrient line.

Yep i second that all i use is Roots Organics potting soil. One thing you need to know about them is they make their soil at the end of the year so it tends ti be a little "hot" in the earlier months so you might need to cut it with some Sunshine #4, also Biobizz makes great soil too, its just like the sunshine mix its good for seeds and young plants. But id look into Roots or Biobizz, Ocean forrest is a good 3rd alternative i try and stay away from foxfarm nothing against them i just think there are better products out there. hope it helps

I don't know if you can get all this but this will get you from start to finish
organic mix
1 big bag of fox farm ocean forest
2 4lb bags of worm castings
1 pound bone meal
1 pound blood meal
3 cups Epsom salts
2 cups of dolomite lime
2 bags of per-lite
Water well, mix well, let sit and cook for at least 5 weeks up to 90 days
I don't have to add any fertilizers for the grows. Should be enough for 6 to 7 good size pots
Good luck
