What's a good strain for my first grow?

I'm in the planning stage for my first grow and I want to know what the best strain to grow would be. I'm open to suggestion since all I have is some questionable bagseed.

I've heard Northern Lights is really good. The ones I'm thinking about are Chocolate Chunk, White Russian, Skunk Haze Seeds and some others.

The deciding factors for me are simply this: Will it have a decent potency and will it be a forgiving grow? I'm looking for a strain that will allow me to make a mistake here or there without destroying my crop that will also have a decent high.

Any suggestions?

I've had good success with Northern Lights, master kush and Afgahni and Big Bud. I made lots of mistakes, abused the plants and still got 2-3 oz of decent bud per plant under a 400 watt hps.

I know Big Bud is famous for it's incredible yield, but does it give a very satisfying high?

I couldn't answer that for you because it's your taste. I'm not a massive aficionado. I basically want something I can be social with and something that will knock me the fuck out; Big Bud is neither of those to me.
I discovered in my first few grows that harvesting earlier was way more satisfying to me than harvesting as people recommended. I am also just as interested in how to grow and what to grow as I am interested in a good buzz.
Get started somewhere and work your way to what you want. That's what I am doing

Big bud is more lame than your mom on sports day.

NL isn't a bad strain, but really most of the strains are just the same to grow, some like blueberry take a little more skill but even so, anyone could grow it, its just getting used to what the plants want.

Hashberry great smell, high, and incrediably easy to grow. and cheap like $24 for 10 i believe.

"Northern Lights x"s Big bud" has been easy for me, most indicas seem to be less demanding. Stay away from Sour Diesel. Just my experience talking.

Thanks, I was actually considering growing Sour Diesel for a while (heard good things), but I may wait until I finish a crop or two. Any other suggestions?

Skunk#1 and Afghani are very easy to grow, great smoke,and yield.
Sour Diesel is good,yes but man is it tempermental.

Looks like I'm gonna be growing 2 strains at once.

I've chosen two strains that will work very well for me.

First up is BC Seed King's Kush Kush Marijuana Seeds

This one should prove to be a more forgiving grow that will yield a decent amount for my personal use. I've chosen this one because I'll need a plant that isn't insanely hard to grow. Since I'm not sure of how difficult my other strain will be, I'm going to go with a strain I know a little better.

I'll also be growing some Purple #1 from Dutch Passion (Da Purps, brah!!!) Purple#1

I love the smoke I get from purps. My friend buys this every time he refills his prescription and it's just awesome. I'm not sure how big the yield is or how tough it is to grow, but even if I get as little as an eight or a quarter I'll be freaking stoked.

good selection man. I would get Hindu kush and Purple Widow. Or that Purple #1.

Both are realy good smoke that isnt that hard to grow.

This is probably the same as Hindu Kush, but I think it's the same case as AK-48 (Name's taken, you can't have it kind of deal)
