What's the Lowest Amout of Light to Flower a Male?

Hey all, what would be the minimum amount of light I could get away with to flower a male so I can harvest the pollen.

I have this male and I set him to flower early by removing from the cab every day, but I now want to separate him from the females as I want to switch them over to 12/12's sometime this week?

Any suggestions for where/how to flower a male in a 1/4g or smaller sized pot?

Who flowers males????ON PURPOSE???????
If youre looking for seeds... especially if the strain is autoflowering... no clones.

I plan on buying some Lowryder seeds, and i'll probably turn one hermie intentionally so I can harvest the seeds.

I wouldnt put any more than 1 42w CFL on it though... use the rest of the lights on those ladies.

Sorry but... i have never tried breeding my plants dont think i'd risk males impregnating my bitches, why not just clone them...^ unless ur using a autoflower strain like Mr.SANTERIA

Well just because you don't want to try breeding you plants why shouldn't anyone else??

Isn't this the Advanced Cultivation section???

The people who breed and test strains so they can bring you the very best seeds to grow. What kind of a stupid question was that????
Exactly what u said... if u cant even grow a male to pollunate it then i doubt u should be trying to make the "very best seeds to grow". Leave it to people who know how to do this:spew:

No you were not. You were deliberately antagonistic in your posts on this thread. So dont' start by playing any passive/agressive game now here, find somewhere else.

no idea, but the question might be if lumen even play a role determining the strength and genetics of pollen. if, with one little light, you'll end up with retarded baby pollen and with a million you'll end up with some superman pollen. otherwise id think it the same as females. one light can be used from veg to flower but you'll end up with a gram...

Ms.MILF, Check out this thread:

DIY 4oz min yield grow setup

Daveg1i has a really great setup idea for
a few plants. It would work great for your
needs. You could even look for more males
and put them in a setup like his and find the
BEST male, or traits from multiple males.

To better answer your question, depending
on the size of your male, I would put not less
than 4x42watts of 6500k CFL's. No less than 4.
More will work extremely well, for what you want.

While Daveg1i's box holds about 4 to 6 plants,
can get smaller containers for 2 to 4 plants. The
fixtures and setup are really easy and that thread
describes to build and parts. Cheap too!

Good luck!

hay everyone. new to the forum. Just wana say that this place rules. The vast amount of info I get from all you guys is priceless. now, I just read in this thread that senorsan was going to herm out a lowryder for seeds, I just harvested a deisel that hermed out on me and was happy as hell for all the sweet seeds, but then I read that only feminized herm plants will produce seeds that wont all be herms. In other words there saying all my seeds are worthless hermy rejects. Is this true?

No your seeds are not worthless hermy rejects. What you will get is that either the plants from these seeds will either be female or hermie.

My first few grows were from hermie seed that came from a late hermie female on my first grow. They were 90% female, the other 10% were just slightly hermie, putting out very few male flowers. I could easily pick them off and I'd probably end up with 5-8 seeds from them per plant?

If you're going to hermie the plant by stress then you'll probably get a lot more female seeds than one that has a tendency to turn hermie by genetics, then you'll have more hermie seeds than fem.

Hey Milf Weed love your Avatar. Weeds is my favorite show, and I am sure everyone else on RIU as well. I am interested in your thread, cause down the line I may go for Breeding and hybrids. I would say for the safety of the girls if you can drop the male outside and let him take his chances that would be cool.
