What's wrong with these LEAVES??? PLEASE LOOK/HELP! PICS...

DSCF8108.jpgDSCF8109.jpgDSCF8107.jpgDSCF8106.jpgDSCF8104.jpg

The details:

-perfect room- (i like to think i know what i'm doing)

100% dialed

2 600 hps
50-60%rh
week 4 veg
1500ppm co2 enrichment
lights are 24 inches from canopy
78-82 degrees day time
rez locked @ 65 degrees with chiller and ample aeration in seperate room
ph floats from 5.5 - 5.9
hydroton medium
my custom aeroflo system 48 sites with half plugged scroging
just went to 12/12

-using the lucus formula 1400ppm (i don't buy the additive marketing BS.... no offense if it works for you)

so some of the leaves (older growth) are doing this. new growth looks good at first (and still healthy looking) but over a few days they are doing this browning thing.

the brown parts are hard/papery

it starts with a darkening at the tips.

frankly, i'm surprised I'm showing a deficiency with "lucus" but it sure
looks like a Mg issue???

I'm hoping one of you nutrient geniuses can give me a hint as to what's happening. Again, this seems to be only about 2% of the growth... maybe.

I've only been on full strength nutes for a week (1400ppm lucus). At first I thought it was just the leaves that were developing BEFORE I fully nuted (I might have waited a bit long to give the full dose) but now it's looking like the "newer older" leaves are doing this...

The ones I picked for the photos are a very extreme cases.

No way this can be burn right????

I just want to nip this in the bud (pun intended) before I have a situation on my hands.

Thanks so much for your consideration...

Did nutes spill on the leaves thats what it looks like to me,1400 is high how old are they

Flush with water let the roots recover, its burn graduate plants to 1400 i almost never go that high, and do great

no spills. no folliar feeding. this is only a few of the older leaves. some plants aren't even showing it. you really think burn??? no "rusty" burning at tips. the 1400 ppm lucus formula is a time-tested/proven winner so I don't know how it could be over fert. plants are @ 4 weeks with thumb-thick trunks...

i guess if it progresses, I'll dump and flush.

thanks for the input...

Do you have a good pic of the whole plant? Before reading the post, the pics said burn to me. After reading through the thread and looking more closely at the photos, I had a couple thoughts. So this problem is starting with lower, bottom leaves and moving up, or...? How long did it take the leaves in the photos to get to that condition - is that an overnight effect or over the course of x number of days? What PPM's were you at prior to 1400? You're factor .7 on your PPM meter, right (1ms = 700ppm)?

no extra pics right this sec, sorry... these are the oldest leaves that did this. i thought they were leftovers when i was runing a supper low ppm, say 300? and they never got what they needed so...

i'm probablly overthinking it. if you could see the whole opperation, you'd probablly see 24 lush, green scroged plants (with great genetics) branching like crazy under a screen. i just know that problems develop REALLY FAST with the aeroflo so I'm hyper sensitive.

the leaves took several days, a week+? to do that. its not overnight. yes i'm .7 factor. and like i said, prior to the 1400ppm, i was around 300-400.

thanks for your thoughts....

Duh - sorry I missed that... Yeah - 1000ppm is a pretty big jump... As mentioned above by somebody else, I too like to gradually taper up and back down on my nute strength over the course of my cycle. But, if your running from your own cuts (which you likely are), and your Mothers were being fed at 1400ppm, then rooted babies can feed at the same rate straight away. I would like to see your op! Yeah - sounds like you got it under control.

I love AeroFlo's. Are you running it straight nft with the drain spout all the way down? Cycle timing or constant waterings? Again, I'd love to see what your setup looks like - as it sounds choice!

i wouldnt feed clones 1400 right away just cause the mom was,new roots burn the mother is established and vigorous the babies wont like imo,i go to 1400 in week 6-7 if all is well a little slower growth is better then no growth and or leaves etc, good luck hope it goes well

Any new stuff, like tubing?

I've read some things about off gassing from recently released tubing.

Might want to check it out if it wasn't something else. I do organic in soil and didn't read real close on it.

Neither would I, nor would I feed Mom's at 1400ppm. But, I was pointing to the fact that such a big jump in ppm was made. NOTE: I said rooted babies... If you don't believe me, try it for yourself! Take a cut from a plant you are feeding at 1000 - and see if you can't begin feeding at 1000ppm as soon as the roots take. Again, I am not advising or advocating this practice. I agree with you. I rarely even get up to 1400 in cycle.

Some growers believe the 2 week headstart you can achieve using higher ppm's sooner, increases the final results. I suppose if quantity was your primary concern, there could be some teeth to this argument. Personally, I have been taking less is more to the extreme, and have found that certain strains yield similarly with lower ppm feedings but have increased flavors.
