takes about 4 weeks for the seeds to ripen. so count backwards. the earlier the better. sometimes they don't take as good if you do it too early though.

When you say they don't take as good what do you mean? What happens? Nothing right. LOL. The reason I ask is I collected some pollin. I pollinated a female with it. I noticed that some of the calyx's are now hugh. They look like they will burst anytime now. I can see the back end of the seed and it looks like it will rip out of the calyx anytime now. Thats ok. Now then I found some calyx's that look like they never took or so I thought. The pistil turned brown just like the others. I was wondering what was wrong so I cut one of the bad ones off and opened it up. It looked like a small brown seed inside. I mean very small seed. You would need about 50 of them to equal the size of a regular seed. Thats how small it was. It was fully brown and looked like a mature seed, just extremly small. The whole plant was pollinated at the sametime so I would have though all seeds would mature at about the same rate. What sucks is I dropped it and lost it. Once I seen it I was like I have to plant this thing to see if it grows. LOL. My dumb as dropped it on the ground though and couldn't find it cause it is so small. I should rip open another one and post a picture.

Do it when the buds cover the entire stem where their cola will be if you want the most seeds possible.. Before they swell out much.. Before 3 weeks you won't get much success, but failing to give them atleast 4 (maybe 5) weeks will hurt you more.. Actual timeline is obviously vastly strain specific..

I like to pollinate at 3weeks, this gives you a fair amount of flowers. Pik a branch about 2/3 way up, I put a piece of yellow plastic tape on branch so to be able to identify it later. Seeds that split the calix will be good seeds. At harvest , hang the marked branches to the side and let them dry so you can screen the seeds out and roll a big fattie for yourself. GYO
