When should I flower these bushy fuckers?

Edit: I keep adding info to the OP so people don't have to read the whole thread.

These are Black Cherry OG, which is a Granddaddy Purp x Ken OG. Indica heavy strain. The bushiness is throwing me way off and I'm having a hard time reading the plant to make a decision on when to flower. Mainline stem thickness is approaching 1" with root mass that will completely fill the bucket within 2 weeks from now.

These plants have stayed really bushy all through veg, which I usually have the exact opposite problem. It's awesome for indoor grow, but a PITA as far as training and defoliation. I raised my light and dropped the intensity to 40% to get them to stretch a bit more in hopes to even out the canopy. Only topped em once, and I am using LST to try and get the canopy even. Just wondering when you would flower these plants? Stem thickness is pretty thick for their height.

All depends on your personal preference. I would wait at least another month then under a scrog net, another couple weeks to fill the net, then flip, but that’s me.

You'd SCROG for just two plants? The plant on the right has a stem diameter of 1" and the other is about 0.75". My last grow, the plants were 2' tall at that diameter

Black Cherry OG. It's a cross of 2 indicas from Ken Estes (GDP x Ken OG). I was expecting indica to be bushy, but I've never seen any this short and bushy. These are almost 3 months old from seed. I've got a 5ft tent, so I'd want these to be about 12" tall before flower, so I still have about 20" from the light to the canopy.

I gotcha, I was just worried about it having a 3x stretch or something catching up with you. Then it's really just a question of yield expectations and patience. As far as scrog goes it's a technique for one or as many plants as you want it to be. The idea being having as many colas at the ideal height for light placement as possible.

I would spread those out on a trellis net to use more of that tents available floor space. What size is tent? What light are you using?

Here's the bigger plant on the right just a week ago, after topping and defoliating. Just started with LST. Note the stem isn't hollow :)

Phantom Pheno 440. Like I said, more recently I am dialing it down to 40% to get them to stretch. 72F and 40% RH average tent conditions.

I've never done anything like that - just individual branch tie downs. How would you use something like that on a plant like this?

2 month from seed* lol stoner math. Seeds were germinated on 1/12. Yeah I've never seen anything like it! The root volume is huge.

In a week or 2 they will be that dense, I'd say. They are spitting out more new root growth and the plants are fucking up my water levels and RDWC flow. I was thinking I want to veg them for about 2 weeks and see how they do with LST. I want the colas sticking out a couple inches from the footprint of the bucket lids. I'm not going to flower either till I have a couple rooted clones. Might be worth it to veg em longer and get a bunch more clones.

Everything I've bred is an OG or from a landrace Afghani. OG's have about 1/3 stretch from flip. Not super stretchers like a haze but they can be manipulated with light intensity to control ther vertical gains in the first 2 weeks of 12/12.
With how squat and bushy you said you plants are, I'm betting that whatever amount of stretching you gain will be stacked with flower terminals. Donkey dicks!!!!!!

How would you manage your light if this was your grow during those first couple weeks of bloom? I just added my water/tent stats. They were all over the place at first because I recently upgraded my equipment and have been learning my way around it. Now we are stable numbers for the most part.

I run rdwc with a 2" return that has about 4.5' between plant rez and control and rez and roots were all the way in my control rez. I didn't think the way they were all blocked together like ramen noodles that there wasn't any In my return but man was I wrong lol. Good luck with your grow homie

If you need to access inside the buckets, then that will be prohibitive.. I wasnt paying attention to your buckets when I made the previous comment. If you can can change the res without moving the plants, or if you can rig up nets on a frames made for each pot individually (may out of 1/2in pvc), then you can do it.

See the the pics on the following thread for how to make frames

See here about SCROG
