When to "break" the stem.

I am wondering when is the best time to break the inside fibers in the stem to make it repair itself and fatten itself up? My stems are now hard and woody, is it too late?

Whats the best way to do it. I have read about lightly twisting it until you feel the fibers tear inside. I imagine this is the best way to do it but I'm a little nervous I'll kill the poor things.

How many pinches per plant do you guys do ? do you pinch all the side shoots as well as the main ?

Who has compared pinched plants to regular plants without pinching ?

Interested in this as well.

damn...id be scared to deliberately "break" anything on my plant...

i had a branch almost completely snap off (was only hanging by a little more then the plants "skin") due to deer damage during this last outdoor season...i tied it to a stick to upright it and bandaided around the snappage...

thing took off and corrected itself...

point being, im sure the method you speak of works...im just too pussy to try it lol

Its amazing how tough the plants are and we treat them like they are babies. They are made to grow in the wild with wind and animals and who knows what. But I am also guilty of being too careful with them. I'm just gonna say fuck it and twist the little fuckers. When they heal up they'll be even thicker and stronger than before.

i treat my plants like theyre Samuel L. Jackson (Mr. Glass) in Unbreakable...

my girl tells me its hilarious to see a 6'4" 240 LBS samoan man tip toe around plants like breathing too hard will destroy them

my thought...better safe then sorry

lol...good luck and make sure to post some pics to show us the progress

peace
