When to flower? And insects?

Folks, if a plant has now been growing for two weeks now and showing a decent amount of leaves, how long do you continue this stage for until going into flowering? Also should a plant be smelling at this stage? And last question, has anyone seen little fly looking things near their plants, "midgy" looking insects have been spotted

You want to veg until your plant is like a third the size you are looking for at finish. You will stretch in flower in some strains 200%.
My first grow it trippled, second grow double mabey a little more.

If you don't have an issue with height then you can let it go to maturity. Nodes will alternate when the plant is mature.

hey commander when you say maturity that means vegging the plant till pre flowers appear?

The plant flowers based on hormones produced during dark periods. If you give it sufficient uninterrupted darkness for an extended period, it will flower regardless of size or the presence of alternating nodes.

The main concern would be height restrictions. I would plan for the plant to at least double in size in every direction.

MYOB is correct.

If it were me I would go another two or three weeks. This gives me a good size indoor plant and I figure 8 or 9 week of flower till harvest (appproxamitly)
