When to flower with height restrictions

i was wondering when i should start to flowering my plants. my grow space is stealth and only 14 inches tall. when should i switch from vegetative stage to flowering stage?

14" tall? You need to start at a couple weeks doing lst/scrog. Damn, that's gonna be a short one.

i am not worried about the yield i just want to get some experience and get through a plant. i am going to try to lst. do you think at around 7 to 8 inches it would be good to switch to flowering?

if you care little for yield 12/12 straight away. but unless you have a low ryder plant, you are going to run out of space unless you LST your plant.

you wont even have the full 14" as you need to light over the plant too. Lightbulb + space not to burn. you'll have about 10 inches. then you have your pot. another 2 or 3? your plant will have a max height of 7".....

Realisticly I don't know if that is enough space. I have heard about people growing thier plants horizontally though? I guess that is a type of LST though.

If you don't have a low ryder I would seriously suggest making a bigger space before your plant fills the space.

I believe the rule of thumb is 2/3 of your vertical growth happens in veg, and approx 1/3 occurs during flowering - so you probably need to switch to 12/12 anytime now.

actually saying that, I have a plant I would describe as a runt, its just as old as my one that is 3 weeks into flower. Over 2 months old from seed.

Really? I would say it will at least double or grow to its minimum hieght.

My last 3 cfl grows were in veg for less
than 2 weeks. No plant got taller than
8 inches before i went to 12/12.
Once in 12/12 I lstd all plants and no
canopy got taller than 18 inches.
You can keep em lower than that even
just start lst earlier. It takes work, and lots of twist ties and paperclips (my prefered lst tools.)
I'm gonna try a screen next grow to
see if its less work than lst.

I don't know lots but its a genetic thing. Like a growth spurt in people. Sativas might get like 5 times the heiht at start of flower. Esp w/ if under illuminated. I wanna learn LST. I am waiting on slavery to be lifted throughout the "united" states in order to grow specific strains. I have a particular one in mind. Purple Kush. Its a Sativa and Indica cross thay grows like an Indica and Purps like a Sativa. Anyways my state is currently in legislation so i am preying for health and well being and for people to do whats right. On both sides.

Depends on whom you quote - no doubt we could both be right (or wrong). Very strain dependant.

some switch it at 12 inches i would switch it now and depending on the strain it might tripple like mine i flowered at 20 inches and its 5 feettall, so think about it , switch it now

12/12 from seed or zero veg clones will finish at about 14 inches. Using small pots will also aid in keeping at you desired height. 16oz cups or 4 inch pots would be ideal.
