when to flower?

im growing 1 plant from awesome bag seed with a sativa up high.....how big should i let it get before i start 12/12 if my grow box is only 4ft high?...with lights off the top..

Since Sativas generally grow tall, I would put it in flower at no more than 18", you have to assume it's gonna double in size(at least) during flowering. And I would top is also. With the Sativas I grew, the main stem is what continued to grow the most when I flowered them, so the main cola was 18" above the rest of the branches. If you top it, you won't have that problem. IMO.
