When to start cutting clones from mothers? Should I top? 10in tall so far...

I have three plants, one of which is already topped. I want to cut clones from them and am wondering when a good time to start cutting the clones would be. My GDP mother is growing very tall instead of bushy and im wondering if i should top it? I wonder if it would be worth it considering I need the clones by the next month. Thanks!!

You can cut plants from any time lol (well not very young plants obviously)

Deeper into flowering leads to less stable clones.

Lots of branches are an ideal property of a good mother plant.

Any branch (not fan leaves) can theoretically become a clone.
